A few months ago, I was involved in a most spectacular car wreck in which, thank God, everyone walked away with only very minor injuries. My car, however, was completely destroyed.
For the past two months, I have been fighting with my Gap Insurance Agency (for those that don't know, Gap Insurance is an insurance policy where, after your car insurance pays off as much of your loan as you car is worth, if you still have an outstanding balance on the loan, they'll pay it off) to get the rest of my loan payed off. This has gone on for about a month and a half at this point. I have finally gotten them to a point where they tell me they need to know how much of a refund amount the car dealership will give me for the unused portion of the extended warranty before they can go any further.
So I called the dealership and explained my situation. He said that the refund process will take up to two months. Having been sans car for two months already, I can't afford to not have a car for another two, so here is where it might get sucky.
I am waiting on a call back from them with what I need to do, but would this situation be sucky: I want to tell them that I was very pleased with the car while I had it (this is true, it was a great car, no issues. cept for the totaled part) and as soon as this is taken care of, I will be getting a car ASAP (also true). If they could do anything to speed this along, I would strongly consider buying from them again.
That last sentence is not so true. While I had a good experience there, I can not afford to buy another new car. I need to go used. They don't sell used. But I need another car really badly, and I can not get a loan while my current one is still being paid off. I would possibly stop into talk to them, but I really doubt I would buy from them.
So what do you guys think? Would that make me a SC? I am really at my wits end here.
