Ok, maybe some of you out there can help me out with this. I've finally reached the breaking point with retail and have decided to look for something else. I found this one position with a large insurance company working in claims. I'd be investigating the validity of customers' claims and then making decisions about whether or not to approve/deny the claim.
I have a gut feeling that I would like this job better than the one I have now--it's roughly the same pay (I actually make a little bit more in my current job, but it's not enough to make it worth staying), has regular M-F hours, and I would finally get to escape working in the store and dealing with all the run-of-the-mill jackasses who can just come in off the street.
I also have a feeling that I could be dealing with a whole new level of suckitude. It's insurance claims--I'm going to spend my days working with some pissed off customers who have just had a REALLY bad day, and I think part of the job entails telling these people, "Sorry, but you're not covered."
Anyone out there work this kind of job or have any opinions/advice about what I may be getting myself into?
