  • Sucky or not sucky behavior from retail customers, Please vote.

I am doing a voting survey to determine what you, the SC users think which behaviors that I believe are "as the website dictates" Sucky. There were some topics that I posted that people were disagreeing or judging quite biasly (The judgment part about my behavior in regards to my threads should be discussed through PM I don't mind the disagreement). Some people had not much imput or got off topic with some of the other threads I've posted. These common situations had inputs from people who seem apathetic, disagreed or biased upon but in which have made me quite annoyed or pissed off from.

#1: Bringing an item with no UPC

Do you find a customer who brings something without a UPC sucky with these conditions? vote yes or no

Conditions and opinions: Usually people make that mistake from getting an item without a barcode but sure, the associates don't have time to check if each item has a barcode and the customers don't bother when they bring one up without a UPC.

This question does not apply to
    a) making sure each item has a barcode every time you shop
    b) having the last item without the barcode and only noticing it when you reach the front checkout

    This question applies to
    a) apologizing and/or offering to bring an item with the barcode
    b) noticing that the item does not have a barcode seconds after you pick it up and letting the cashier know instead of a floor associate keeping in mind that it would take longer that way to process another UPC

#2: Asking for a price check

Do you find a customer who requires that the item is not the correct price on the shelf sucky under these conditions? vote yes or no

Conditions and opinions: One small concern that the price is not marked correctly from common small businesses to conglomerates becomes a big hassle for compulsive shoppers. If they see any sign with a different price they assume automatically that it's not correct even when merchandise is free for customers to move in another spot. With the convienient use of price checkers what reduces the amount of times people ask for the price at the till and it gives the customer benefit if they do notice that the price is incorrect to find a floor associate to address that matter.

This question does not apply to
    a) finding a sign that says the exact discription of the item it you're a customer or if you are an employee or worked retail before will follow the tag with the UPC on it.
b)Having a product that physically says the price on there and is ringing differently and/or noticing an outrageous price of an item.

    This question does apply to
a)Seeing a price underneath the item and automatically assuming that's the cheaper price without reading the item discription (never happens the other way hmmm...) and/or refusing to leave until they get it for that price in which the Managers give in or the cops get involved.
    b) Mentioning the price check for -.25 cents and saying you're in a hurry but small amounts of money is more valuable than time in the SC's point of view!

    #3: Shopping in a hurry

Do you find a customer that make you feel like you must go faster for them because they say they are in a hurry considered sucky under these conditions? vote yes or no

Conditions and opinions: This baffles me in regards to what they are in a hurry for that they have to shop? I've noticed indirectly from SC users that they get pissed off too from this matter. I'm assuming they could be doing illegal activities, staying away from someone, going to an appointment, on their way to work or going to a party, not really in a hurry or some special day.

This question does not apply to
    a) actually shopping before having to go somewhere but not mentioning you're in a hurry
    b) saying you're going to work after but not rushing the associate

    This question applies to
a)shopping in a hurry for very insignificent things (entertainment, jewellry, pet, or making a return in courtesy which you shouldn't do in a hurry).
b)asking a cashier how long something will take when he/she isn't the only person on till, "STFU and go to another till, quit giving me a hard time" (HHHZ QUOTE)!!

    #4: Wintertime Plant Shopping

Do you find the idea that customers must buy plants in the wintertime considered sucky under these conditions? vote yes or no

Conditions and opinions: I'm sorry in anyone who disagrees entirely but if you are buying plants in the wintertime enough to tell the cashier to make bagging requests in regards to them being frozen or frostbitten because of the weather this totally drives me nuts, the bigger the plant the stupider they are I frickin swear. And I made a few posts about this and %100 of the people don't show that they agree with me but this is my opinion and people are entitled to it, difficult situations solved easily with one change in the weather.

This question does not apply to
    a) people that do buy plants small enough for them to be bagged or double bagged with no hassle
    b) buying flowers with the paper and wanting them bagged even though the paper protects them

    This question applies to
    a) Having to put more effort to bag or cover the plants because of the weather.
    b) freaking out to the cashier for not protecting them the way you want them to be protected and being a complete ass in front of everyone

    #5: Complaining of long lineups

Do you find customers who complain about the lineups with indications that we are hiring considered sucky? vote yes or no

Conditions and opinions: Sure people will come to a massive;y busy store even though they don't really expect it unless it's sale prices, Special days or Christmas but other days, ugggh.... you get the picture!. The Employees at my work find this to be the #1 factor of customer suckiness and that is people bitching and complaining about the lineups when it's blantenly obviously thet we are hiring. We don't put up what our pay rate starting wage is because of one of the Wally World's 3 basic beliefs (Respect for the individual) so paying people more is not a good reason unless it's clearly confidential. We recommend filling out an application form so you can work with us!

This question does not apply to
    a) Actually waiting in these line-ups
    b) coming with a sh!tload of Groceries unless it's around closing

    This question applies to
    a) Complaining to someone about the line-ups especially in a rude way
    b) staying in the store when it's very busy after closing time

I'm short on time for now but I'll post more situations. expect more questions from the following....
    #6 Express Lanes
#7 Asking if something else works when the sign says one thing doesn't
    #8 Reaching over the counter
    #9 Courtesy Returns
    #10 Customer encounter
Providing Excellent customer service and Filtering out nonsense people.
