  • Oh, you have one of *those* cards

This is more funny than sucky, I guess.

Me: "Hi, how are you today, Ma'am? Do you have a Winn Dixie card?"

    Customer: " . . . No. Buuuttt, I have a Winn Dixie card."

    Me:

Gotta love the crowds that Saturday brings into my store.

WD shoppers (in general) aren't the brightest crayons in the box.

And yes, I know this from painful experience.

For the most part, I like working here a hell of a lot better than I ever did at Hell-Mart.

However, despite the fact that some of these people have been shopping WD for years, they still haven't learned how to read the screen and receipts properly.

"I'm not paying $13 for those cherries!"

"That's the price before your reward card discount was taken off, sir/ma'am."

And I still have to explain it three times, and every now and then, have a manager come and tell them the same thing.

Ah, yes, the discounts that come off AFTER the initial price pops up on the screen. Hated that too.

I would shoot myself before I ever worked at a Mall-Wart. The horror stories I've heard...!

Mom worked at WW for awhile. She quit, works at a bank now. Let me tell you, don't ever doubt any of the horror stories people have about WW, they're all true.
It is inaccurate to say that I hate everything. I am strongly in favor of common sense, common honesty, and common decency. This makes me forever ineligible for public office.

Just take a walk through your local WM, looking at the clientele there, and try to tell me that all the horror stories aren't true!

The horror stories of WM is true, every little detail of it. Now, since that brought back painful memories, I am going to go to curl up in the corner and , while rocking back and fourth

Guilty! Last time I was at WD, I tried to pay for my purchases with an Albertson's club card*. Swiped it in the machine, it wouldn't process, I give the look, swipe it again, no good, again, swore a little bit, mumbled to myself "I know there's money in my account," looked down at the card and ! Oops.
The cashier was looking at me, arms folded, one hand hiding the big smile on her mouth.
"Why didn't you say anything?" I asked her.
"I was having too much fun watching you." she replied.
                "Gee, thanks."

Luckily for me, I've had that cashier many times, so she and I goofed around many times.

I can vouch for that one, especially after 14 years of dealing with them.

Sadly, since WD closed up in this area, the "special" ones flock to the Kitty.

Of course, try explaining to chronic morons umpteenth times a day that their BOGO items did take off . . . their computers were set up so that both items came up full price, then after the discount the price for one was subtracted (instead of half price for each one like the Kitty does.)

Too bad we couldn't have Mr. Slugger around to assist *sigh*
