  • I'm Not Supposed to Refund at the Regular Registers

    Yesterday, the checker in express needed a store card so I let her use mine. I saw that the express line was backed up so I jumped into another express register.

    A customer complained that her cherries rang up twice. I told her that they could fix it at the service desk. I found out later from the FEM that the customer said that I was mean probably because I had her walk to the service desk for her refund. The FEM told the customer that she would talk to me.

    The FEM let me know about the customer with the cherries and understood that I wasn't trying to be rude. She also knew that some customers take things the wrong way.

    Interesting. Well there really isn't anything you can do. I try to let them get ahead in line if I can. BTW who is an FEM?
    Providing Excellent customer service and Filtering out nonsense people.

      FEM = Front end manager. Usually the person directly in charge of the cashiers.
      This isn't an office. It's Hell with fluorescent lighting.

        I hate it when customers have things ring up incorrectly, and they come back to the cashier that checked them out, thinking they can fix it. There's nothing we can do on the checkout registers after a transaction has went through. Then when we send them to the Service Desk after telling them that we cannot refund them at the checkouts, they get pissed off.
