  • problems posting a reply

I was trying to post a reply to the ID thread on the main Sucky Customers board. I wrote out my reply and hit the submit reply button. an HTTP 501 and HTTP 505 error popped up and I was unable to continue unless I did a back to last page on IE. I have tried several times to repost my reply butr I keep getting the HTTP 501 and 505 errors.

not sure what is going on

    Thanks

There are two sorts of this going on. One is undetermined. The other is known and GBM is working on it as and when he can. The known one involves technical terms, the sorts of things that may be considered a security risk. The command t*raceroute, for example, triggers this.

Fancy emailing me the stuff you're trying to post? I'm rapscallion who is at blueyonder, which is a dottie co and a dottie uk.

when I worked at the gas station we had a book of ALL state licenses and their attached security features. at least in Winconsin and now many other States the ID card had the same security features as regular DL's. at least most states (esp after 9/11/01) retooled their DL's and State ID cards and slapped more redsidency requirement verifications on the process. most of the old Winsonsin laminated DL ID have gone bye bye (soooooooo easy to do a fake).
so ID cards are not really the route to go amymore for fake ID's

I took out two of the slashes in the post - looks like it could either be the one that immediately preceded 'all' or the one between 'dl' and 'id' - if I left those in, I got the same result as you.

We've got some pretty tight security around here. Rawr!

Just tinker with your message slightly and you should be fine

Yup, slashes in the post seem to do it (I was having the same problem).

I don't know if it's slashes in a post. I was having the same problem and my post has no slashes.

The problem is if a post looks like certain pieces of code, so there are ways other than slashes, though those are the most common. Are you sure it was the same errors?

It had the word 'echo' in there and what appeared to be supplemental parameters. I worked that one out.
