  • Er...thanks.

I'm a cashier, if you didn't know. The other day, a woman loads a ton of groceries on the belt and then suddenly realizes she forgot something and decids to run back to get it. Not a big deal. There were people waiting, so she said, "Do me a favor and go real slow for me, okay?" and then runs off. I go at pretty much my normal pace. I'm timed, you know, I can't slow down just for her. Anyway a couple minutes later she comes back, thankful for my patience, glances at her groceries on the belt, grins and says:

"Good job on that going real slow thing!"

    I aim to please.

    Hmm.

If I haven't already started ringing items when people do the "I need something I forgot!" thing, I'll start taking whomever was in line behind them. It's not that customer's fault that the person in front of them 'forgot' something (and in most cases, they come back with half the store in their arms), so I see no reason to make the other people wait in line longer.

    Just my is all.
The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.

Oh, I had already rung up several items. Now that I think about it, I don't believe there actually was someone waiting behind her. It was just pretty busy and she was worried someone else would come up.
