Customer: "$20 on pump 8. I mean it's one of those out there! I'm being a stupid customer!"

It turned out he used to work at my workplace and that was his number 1 pet peeve. He stayed and chatted for a while and not much has changed in the last year.

My pet peeve is when they tell you so confidently that they want "20 on 5".

And when they get out there you realize that they meant the OTHER side of 5. Here that happens to be 6. And because of the way the pumps are set up, I can't see if anyone is at 6 if someone is at 5.

Oh well. With it being pre-pay here now, some people are starting to look at pump numbers. Now if they could just remember the number long enough to tell me.

*hangs head* I did that once.

I came in, told the guy the pump number then went out. The pump wouldn't work so I went back in to tell the guy, and he said it was good to go.

Somewhere between me going back in a second time, and me actually getting to the door, I realized the problem. So when I got in, I just said, "I'm an idiot, can you move that to pump such-and-such?"
