  • I just knew she was going to suck...

My premonition was on high alert yesterday, as Corporate mandated that our 'exit' door is now no longer to open for people coming in, only for those going out.

Can anyone else see where this is going already?

Someone walked out, just as another customer was walking 'in'. She just barely managed to get in, and the doors almost shut on her ass.
She storms over to me, (I'm hiding a smile behind my hand as I almost witnessed Customer Death) and says, "You need to fix your door!"
"No, ma'am, it's working perfectly. It only registers customers going out, seeing as it's an EXIT door!"
    "Well, that's dangerous."
"Not as dangerous as trying to beat the nonstop doors. Unless you're freakishly tall, I.E. Me, you cannot just walk in and hope the door triggers as soon as you pass over the lintel. Particularly since it was 'closing' when you walked up."
"Oh, well, I have a return..."
"I know this. I saw the bag in your hand."
    "I call murder on that!"

    All clearly signed as well?
Regardless, people will always have problems with specific exits, as they just go to whatever is closest and complain if they have to walk a few more steps.

Or when they leave, realize they forgot something and turn around right into the closed door.

Hmm, could be fun to watch.

Yup. Plastic sticky on the door, marks it clearly as 'Exit', it's roughly at my head level...
What's worse is how often my coworkers will walk to the exit door from outside before going for the entrance door.
A couple of them, I watched attempt entrance through the wrong door today every single time they came in. I warned them that I would start pointing and laughing on my next shift. To help them learn through humiliation.

I'm a little OCD, so I can't go in and exit or vice versa... I hate going to wally world and having to wait at the entrance for all the people to leave just so I can go inside because they don't want to go out the correct door. People are the most effective door blockers, I swear.

People are constantly coming in the first exit door of my store when somebody else is leaving, and then when the second door doesn't open for them, they pry it open and break it. People have also been know to pry open the first door and break that as well, and the only time we hear about it is several minutes later when someone tries to leave and the doors won't open. It's a quick fix, but my god, there's another door clearly labeled 'enter' not 15 feet away from you. Assholes.

I hate when I go to Wally World and when I go in the Entrance, people coming out of the entrance give me the cat-butt face like I personally offended them or something.

Sounds like MOD B, whom I watched walk up to the exit door the other day, stand there a few minutes, then, when no one came to activate/open the door, he just pried it open.
"Dude, you're management, don't set that kind of example for the workers."
He obviously has anger issues. This' the guy who was going to throw phones at a cell phone store until they did what he wanted them to... I think I posted that in my thread about nail polish...
