  • Not my problem

Years ago I used to work for an OEM(Computer manufaturer) as tech support. We only support computers up to a year after they were bought. EVERYONE does this, if you want tech support after the year is over you get an extended warranty.

I had one customer call me wanting help setting up their computer for the first time. I check the system and its been over a year since they bought the computer.

"You have to support me for a year!"

I explained extended warranties and what a year of tech support means, it goes in ear and out the other. I can't get them to comprehend that its a year after date of purchase.

I'm banging my head on the cubicle wall as the conversation drags on half an hour with the customer demanding service, and finally my manager hears what's going on and tells me to accidentally hang upon her.

    Sometimes I liked that job.

Who buys a computer and waits a year to use it?
Excuse me, good sir paladin, can you direct me to your EVIL district?

Same reason one buys an Office Space kit a month ago and doesn't open it.. I mean, I'm going to open it. Eventually. <_< >_>

See, had he called back, I'd be like

"BRO! I haven't heard from you in a year and a minute. What, no man, its been a year since we last talk, I swear! Look at the paper! It says 2008! Welcome to the FUTURE!)
