  • You may want to put a little more thought into that plan

I am in mental pain. Everything is grinding my gears today. I want to go home. Seeing I can't, I am praying for nice normal customers who come in buy stuff and leave.

God our Father in Heaven. Why do you mock me?!

    Me- Hormonally challenged grumpy person
GJOM- Gods joke on Me. About 20 years old and not the sharpest of characters

Me- Hi, anything I can help you with?
GJOM - Ummm. I don't even know why I came in here (Stares)
Me - OK. Do you want to just have a look around then
GJOM - Actually, I want to start my own liquor company
Me - I hope you've got lots of money then. Ha ha
    GJOM - Why?
Me - because it's very expensive.
GJOM - I want to make high end, expensive RTD's. You know for rich people who drink $50 bottles of wine, but don't like wine.
Me - (my cererbral cortex is still hurting trying to figure that one out) I think you find that the type of people who drink RTD's are cheapskate teenagers who like sweet sugary alcohol at the lowest possible price. The upper socio economic adult market you are after doesn't consume a lot of RTD's. Plus I can't really see why anyone spend $50 on a bottle of wine if they don't like drinking wine.
    GJOM - Really?
Me - Yeah. I think you might want to do a bit a research on this. Getting distribution is really hard unless you are a major player with a lot of development budget and industry contacts.
GJOM- But what if I don't want it distributed?
Me - (nearly crying) then you won't have any place for customers to buy your product and you won't sell any or make any money
GJOM - Oh. Maybe I should do a bit more research.
Me - I think that would be a really good idea.

Bless his little cotton socks. But really? I think I might start drinking now.

    Yeah, he's not thinking.

Still, I'm a little clueless, myself.

Ready To Drink. Cocktails already mixed, in cans. Usually very cheap because they contain a tiny amount of vodka or whatever the spirit's meant to be and a lot of bad white wine and sugar.

Opps. A 'Ready to Drink'. Pre mixed alcoholic sugar watern sold cheap as chips to teenagers to get them used to the taste of alcohol thereby insuring the large liquor companies secure their future customer base.

Let me get this right, cause I don't drink. Alcohol + Sugar in a CAN?

Is that even drinkable? ; cause like *ick* it's gonna taste of metal.

Ours are mainly in bottles though. But they do taste pretty bad. Very sweet.

RTD's also come in bottles and are also things such as Smirnoff Blacks etc (thought these are more expensive due to higher alcohol content).

Though in Oz the average age of an RTD drinker is 24 and is usually male....LOL.
Considering they are trying to bring a governemnt law/ tax against RTD's here to stop under 18 girls binge drinking....don't think that would work.

Though I usually prefer RTD's easier to consume and a majority of ppl will like them!!
                    Just some input!

And yes this guy was dreaming just a little too much!!
every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.... for every person I can stand being around there is and eqaul and opposite idiot....... -_- damn stupid people

Strangely, the prices went up right after the tax was announced but before it became law...

In my binge drinking days we drank cleanskin wines and homebrewed beer... homebrew costs 60 cents per stubby and to make it too expensive they'll have to greatly increase the prices of water, barley and sugar...

Would I be correct in assuming, (I know. Assume nothing) that the RTD menance has yet to rear it's ugly head in America. It seems the Aussies know what I am talking about but not the others.

Are they anything like Bartles & James, Zima, Smirnoff Ice, Jose Cuervo premixed margaritas? If that's the same thing, we just don't call them that here....even thought the Cuervo website does refer to them as ready-to-drink margaritas.

The people you usually see drinking them are PITA little under-age college girls that think that they're just so-o-o-o hardcore because, OMG, we're drinking!

Man, haven't had one of those in years. I think you grow out of them somewhat....and move on to Guinness, Mackeson Triple Stout, and single malt!

as far as I know they are similar to alcopops in the uk? We have ranges of drinks that are fruit juice, sugar and cheap booze, and in the past there has been huge storms about them because they taste like alcoholic pop, and kids as young as 13 are getting smashed on them.

They're exactly the same thing, just a different name. Interstingly, RTD is also a brand name of these things, but they were known as RTDs long before RTD the brand came along.
