  • Delivery Charges

This one has fucking astounded me. This is nothing to do with the company I work for, nothing to do with anything store related, this is a private sale, on Ebay. Proof that we are not safe from sucky customers, even from the comfort and reasonable safety of our own homes.

I’m selling the radio from my old car on eBay because the new car I’ve had does everything the LG Radio I fitted to the old car did, so I have no need to re-fit it to the new car. I put it up as a starting bid of 99p and delivery of £20 so I can insure it and send it Via a courier, not the royal mail, who will probably loose it like they loose half the post I send

    This is how the messaging went;

SC: her (Funny thing is that not only does it stand for Sucky customer, it’s her initials )
Me: Fedup with putting up with stupid shit like this

    From SC

What justification do you have to be charging £20 postage on this item as it is no more than £8 to post as I know through previos experience and also most other ebay sellers ????

    To SC

That way I can include insurance in the cost and send it via a proper courrier who I can track it by, not the royal mail.

    From SC

Yes ok , I do that at half the cost Max £10 !!!!

[I dunno what courier she uses. I wish I did so I could do delivery on an delicate piece of electrical equipment that cheaply]

    To SC

That’s what my courtier cost for basic delivery. At the end of the day, if you don't want to pay my delivery charges and you want to take a gamble with the royal mail, I would advise you not to look at anything I am selling, much less bid on it. Anyway, your bid lost so I don't see why you are complaining

    From SC

I aint complaing mate I lost because I couldn;t be bothered being ripped off and so take note Ebay has been informed of your rediculous postal overcharging and are at present looking into it with veiw of banning you from selling future items So happy ripping off as it won;t last much longer

[Please, for the love of GOD buy a spell checker!]

    To SC

You see, the problem is there that I am VERY familiar with the information that eBay give to someone who has made a complaint about a seller or bidder so your threats do not phase me. You don't know that they are considering taking any action against me so I would suggest you stop trying to blag your way through this one before you make yourself look really foolish.

    From SC

listen I Never threaten anyone I just inform them of my intentions before hand so they dont think I'm going behind there backs so if you feel threatened then thats YOUR problem
I have nothing further to say to you on this matter so Bye Bye

    To SC

ooh, your informing me before hand eh? thats odd since your last message said that ebay knew about the issue that that they were investigating it and considering banning me already. Funny how your story changed so suddenly when I told you how familiar I am with the system

    That’s the story so far.

Don’t you find it funny that one minute she’s saying that eBay are “at present looking into it with veiw of banning you from selling future items” then the next minute she’s telling me that she was telling me BEFORE hand.

As a co-worker of mine has just pointed out; “Delivery charges are stated very clearly before you bid. What the fuck is her problem?!” something tells me she’s just a bit pissy because she wanted that radio and didn’t get it. All her messages came to me after the auction had ended.

Sounds like they're just trying to rile you up a bit. Just ignoring them is probably your best bet.

A friend of mine sold something on ebay and the guy left negative feedback because he didn't like the shipping charge! Even though my friends shipping policy was clearly explained in the auction.

I don't mind that a seller charges more on shipping, since there's packaging, then driving to the post office (unless you get pick up). Nice that she can ship cheaper, but I bet it's for something smaller or lighter, so she really doesn't know what she's talking about.

You include insurance with your shipping? That's really nice of you.

I'd just leave her alone. She wants to feel important, and responding makes her feel SPECIAL.

Although I sympathize: NOT replying will be the hardest thing you'll ever do. What a bored, lonely, angry person.

People seem to be wanting to do that a lot latly. I must have done SOMTHING to piss the world off. Although I am guessing it has somthing to do with me working in retail cuwstomer service & tech support; It usually does.

No doubt I would have had a right battle on my hands over the cost of shipping had she won the bid. Why are these people allowed to buy computers?

Well, they don;t have a leg to stand on. eBays policy is that the shipping charge is clearly displayed. Don't like? Don't bid.

I think she's just trying to blag it, to be honest. I seriously doubt you can ship it cheaper if you actually declare what is on the shipping manifest properly

It's to cover my own arse if the person I am sending to doesn't know I can trace the order until it shows up at their door, they are less likely to kick up a fuss and try to con me out of having their money back. If they do I can hold up the shipping manifest and say "Look. you signed for it according to the courrier. Stop trying to steal, jackass"

Wow, Flea. I'd be a smudge irked at that lady too. I guess she's just looking for something to complain about.

As long as we're picking on spelling, in this usage it's faze, not phase.

Unless the shipping charges are unduly high so that the seller profits from them, not from the price of the item.

What is or isn't excessive can be determined by the particular ebay CSR reviewing a complaint.

Either the SC didn't follow through with a complaint, or she did, and ebay found no reason to pull the listing.

Further, you should be counting your blessings that this particular SC did not win the bid, because she most likely would've given you negative feedback and you wouldn't be able to do the same to her. Because, as I've mentioned several times here, ebay has decided that sellers who leave negative feedbacks do so solely as retaliation.

it can be spelt either way. I ran a grammar checker over that one and it didn't pick it up

Not necessarily. Don't forget that ebay CSR reps will probibly have the same outlook that many CSR people do...the customer/loosing bidder is just looking for somthing to complain about. £20 for delivery of an electrical item is not expensive

phase = the particular state of an existing body of matter; a period of time or sequence of events; The relative position of a wave (frequency) in correlation to some reference point

faze = To emotionally disturb or scare

It's not a grammar error. It's a word usage error.

                            For example, if you wrote:

                            "The cupboard was bear."

Grammar check would find no errors with it. But most people would recognize that sentence as being incorrect word-usage.
