  • An answer for wrong numbers

I'm watching a newer episode of the Venture Brothers that I DVR'd and Dr Jonas Venture Jr is trying to get in touch with OSI via phone.

He asks to be put in touch with the Office of Arch Relations

Phone: Thsi is OSI Dry Cleaning and Laundrymat, I think you have the wrong number.
Venture: I'm quite sure I dialed it correctly.
Phone: And I'm quite sure I'm ironing a shirt. You have the wrong number, buddy.

    LOL, good one.

I once worked at a tire store, and the old man manager would say, "Well, you got the right number for TIRES!"

Probably the best response to a wrong number, not that it ever led to a sale...
Suckiness is reinforced up OR down at every transaction. Accepting BS makes them worse for all of us; firm fairness trains them to suck less.

I get wrong numbers and sometimes I'll say "are you sure you don't want to go on vacation, I think your subconscience dialed "wrong" on purpose". I've actually gotten a few call backs that way.

        Hi,

I'm a noob to this forum, but I read the posts everyday while I'm at work and you guys make me laugh and wonder about the sanity of some people in this world.

Anyhow, I myself get lots of wrong numbers, I work in a used book store in Texas, my favorite had to be the man who had just left the doctor and here is how the conversation went.

        Me: Clerk
        Wrong Number Customer: WNC

Me: Thank you for calling, How may I help you?

WNC: Yes, my wife and I just left the doctor and we need to call in a prescription for my wives bowel issue.

Me: Sir, this is a book store now I would be glad to find a book on bowel problems for you but other then that you will have to call the pharmacy.

WNC: You mean this isn't CVS?

        Me: No Sir

WNC: *five seconds of breathing then click*

I think he was to embarrassed to say anything
