Have you guys ever had this happen? I had a line out the door and a woman walked in.She asked where the toothpaste was and I pointed her to it 5 feet away. And I noticed she was just standing there. After 2-3 mins she said well fine I guess I have to go get it myself. Did I metioned 5 feet away. She autually wanted me to leave my customers (line out the door) and go get her the toothpaste.

You might be surprised (or disheartened) to know what some customers expect employees to do.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think I'd actually be bored if I expected employees to fetch things while I just stand there.

Where did these people get the idea of personal shoppers? I've always wondered.

Entitlement seems to be a disease around here. I witnessed a woman in the supermarket last week yelling at a young boy behind the deli counter that she shouldn't be expected to get her own olives from the self-serve olive bar. It was "too hard".

I've had people do that to me. Except I wasn't allowed to leave the cashwrap, even if there wasn't another soul in sight. If it was something close by that I could grab without being out of sight of the cashwrap, that'd be fine (and I would also straighten the front tables or the gift area when it was slow) but no, I can't go get you a book or look something up just because you're too lazy to go to the customer service desk.
