  • Need help with a DDS file

I need to modify a .dds file - basically, it comes up as a picture in a program I'm using, and I want to change it to another picture. Anybody know if there's a way to do this easily?

not really, not easily anyway.... It's a directX container format. It could be a picture, texture image, or an 2d/3d vector image.

The easiest way is to screen capture and paste in paint. However if you can open in IrfanView, then you should be able to save it in another raster image format.
I've lost my mind ages ago. If you find it, please hide it.

Image Magick has some support in the latest version. You can use that to convert from DDS to PNG, GIF, etc.

It might not work, since the support is still very new, but it's worth a shot, especially since it's free.

I'll see what I can do with it. Thanks!
