  • Ike forces us to close pharmacy. And lady doesn't like it!

Now I was right in the path of the storm. The eye went like right over us! We're fine btw, no major damage. Fence is gone, a couple of trees are down and no power for several hours now. Thank God for generators!

So I'm sure yall can imagine Kroger is crazy! For like 3 days we had every register open with lines down the aisles. we didn't start running outta stuff till friday morning though. Starbucks had been closed for 2 days, the Pharmacy close at 2pm thursday. We were gonna close at like 2pm friday (ended up doing it at 11:30am. ) So all day im answering the phones saying the same thing. "yes we're open. We're closing at 2" Well I get this lady on the phone. Please bear in mind the suck level is very high!

    Me:
    SC: Crazy RX lady

Me: Thank you for calling Krogers, this is SG15Z how may I help you?
SC: Yes is your Pharmacy open?
Me: No ma'am they've been closed since 2pm yesterday.
SC: Well that's just great! I called in for a prescription wednesday (slight fail) and they said it wouldn't be done till 1pm yesterday, but of course by the time I get there the was a STUPID (emphasis not added) sign saying they were closed! (epic fail)
Me: Well ma'am they closed at tw-
SC: This is STUPID (the yelling begins) that a 24-hour store that is still open would close it's pharamacy so early!! I have medicine that I NEED during the storm!
Me: Well ma'am what do you want me to do our RX techs evacuated. We had no choice but to close it!
SC: Well y'all should be keeping it open as long as y'all are open! (oh god)
Me: (I begin yelling back at this point) Well ma'am what do you want me to do!! My techs have evacuated for the storm! I'm lucky to even have checklanes open! what the hell do you want me to do!
SC: Well I'll tell you what I want you to do. (I bet you will) Are you the manager? What's your name?
Me: No ma'am I'm not the manager, and my name is SG15Z (what's she gonna do? complain that we closed the RX for the hurricane?).
SC: Well I would expect you and the manager to keep the RX open longer than you did!
Me: Ma'am all my techs were gone! there was nothing we could do!
SC: THEN Y'ALL SHOULDA GOT SOME OTHER PEOPLE TO RUN IT!
Me: Are you kidding!!!! I'm lucky to have checklanes open. What makes you thing I'd have someone risk their lives to "serve" you who doesn't even work here!!! THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO!
SC: Well are you the manager?!
Me: No ma'am I'm just a supervisor. Would you like to speak to him?
    SC: YES! What's your name?
Me: SG15Z (I've said it like 3 times now!)
SC: Well SG15Z I'm reporting y'all to the pharmaceutical (something or another, I can't remember who she said). This is ridiculous!
Me: Whatever I'll page the manager.
    SC: You do that!
    Me: I will....Bitch!

I parked the call and paged the manager. He never talked to me about the lady and truthfully I don't care. She was nuts and I'm sure the manager (whichever one answered) thought the same and didn't care what I said to her, otherwise he woulda mentioned it later and he never did. What a bitch!

Wow... she was really, really out there. Doesn't even understand that pharmacy people have to be licensed.

And I'm sure she had at least a week to of gotten the pills -- not talking about the hurricane, but pill refill times. Even though you can't refill pills too quickly, there is like a week before pills run out you can get them refilled. Of course if it was a new prescription... I'm sure the hospital (or doctor) could've filled it or given her samples considering the storm.

Well, madam, if you had an emergency need for your prescription yesterday, there were and are several local hospitals able to fill it.

Hey lady, the reason you can't just put anybody in a pharmacy to fill what I desperately hope was your heavy duty Prozac scrip? It's ILLEGAL. You must have a licensed pharmacist in the pharmacy at all times or no drugs. That's why there is always a bathroom by the pharmacy or in the pharmacy, so the pharmacist can take a leak without breaking the law. In fact, if you're in TX then all techs must be certified pharmacy techs with their board certification up to date. Say it with me folks:

A failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.

          Sheesh.

Ad if the SC runs out of meds i bet she will claim it is you fault, not hers for not planning for a freaking hurricane.

              Bathroom...

It is perfectly legal to have the pharmacist step out of the pharmacy for a moment: to use the restroom, to get a drink, they just can't leave the building. And very little can be done while they're not there.

And somehow, it never fails. The minute the pharmacist needs to use the facilities, some asshat needs to talk to them. If it weren't illegal and lose me my license, I'd pretend. I know the answers to most of the dumbass questions they ask. And half of the time they demand to speak to the pharmacist, it's a question I can answer anyway.

She could've gone there EARLIER prior to the storm and store closing to get her prescriptions refilled. The SC's lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on the OP and the OP's stores part. Is it just me or do people's commonsense disappear once a storm comes?!

Again, more proof that SC's don't think that CS staff are human beings too!

You are assuming people have it at any other time?
