This one happened to me as a customer, but it's not the store's fault.

Yesterday afternoon (sunday) I had to go get some pharmaceuticals for my sick wife. Go to the only pharmacy in town that is open on sunday. First clue that something was up was that every car in the carpark was an old heap. There's about a dozen other customers in there, and a horrible body odour smell. A quick survey of the customers indicated that myself and another well dressed gentlemen were the only ones with shoes. Got a little too close to some of the other customers in the register line and the body odour smell was just rank. Most of them looked like they hadn't changed clothes for a week. In the time I was there, every new customer that walked through the door was similarly attired.

Ok, so they are in a pharmacy on a sunday afternoon because presumably they, or someone in their household, is sick. But surely you can put shoes on, have a shower, put some clean clothes on, and have a squirt of deoderant. I pity the poor staff of that shop - having to work on sunday would be bad enough - a steady stream of customers like that would be dreadful.

I think I could get you a firehose to carry for future outings with stinky flesh-bags. If the smell isn't gone, the water pressure will knock them far enough away that you won't be able to get a good whiff...

Chances are, they are getting their weekly Methadone dispense. I have had similar experiences, and many tend to be homeless. It is unfortunate, yes, but on the whole everyone behaves themselves, as they don't want to risk getting denied.

The neighbourhood that the pharmacy wasin similarly drab? They usually grant dispensing licenses to pharmacies in high risk regions. Depends on where you are though.
