  • Customers running inlaws out of business.

I'm no fan of my inlaws but I do feel sorry for them about them. They recently closed their auction house after 10 years. Basically customers started refusing to pay more then a 1.00 or 2.00 for anything, even a complete bed set. And we caught numerous people that were considered friends stealing.Basically they were sticking antique table clothes in boxes of rags and then getting them for 1.00. One woman which we had over for dinner and was a friend done this and my MIL saw her pulling the tableclothe out of the box and then throwing the rest away.My FIL stopped the auction and then called her out in front of everyone. Also people started saying that they didn't buy stuff and the ticket was made up.My MIL had to start walking out to peoples cars and searching them because it got so bad.So have you guys ever seen a business (espically a family business) run out by CS?

Yeah. SCs never really think what they're doing could put you out of business. Even if they DID realize, they probably wouldn't care. At least not until they needed something from you and realize you aren't around to provide it any more.

And, like your in-laws, the worst offenders for us have been contract customers who were friendly with the owner and tried to take advantage.

The worst thing? When he grew a spine and enforced the provisions of the contract, they acted like HE was the bad guy.

What can I say? Some people just suck.
The best karma is letting a jerk bash himself senseless on the wall of your polite indifference.

The stupid is strong with this one.

Good for FIL! I hope the thief had enough decency to be ashamed of herself.

That's the truth. Some folks have no conscience whatsoever, it's disgusting.

Sorry about your inlaws, CSG. Having learned some nasty lessons, I hope they have better luck with their next venture.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.
