  • Why not just eat the whole thing

So I'm stocking the store today before I leave and I see a pack of mentos that has been opened. But there were only maybe three or four took out.
Its a fucking dollar. If I see ever again I"ll put the mentos on the counter and then they can't steal them.

Another thing I seen when I was stocking.I was stocking the pop tarts and I found a special K bar. What gets me is that the pop tarts is one shelf down. WTF you can't put something back that is one shelf up. I swear you will see me on the news one day. I will be the crazy lady that runs into SC house and start putting stuff out of order in their cabinets or start throwing stuff out of their closets in the floor.

Just pure laziness, and/or wilful ignorance. You don't expect customers to face everything up for you, but for goodness sake, if you got it from somewhere, put it back where you found it!

I feel your pain, it's happened all too often. I've actually had to stop myself from tidying shelves when I've been doing my weekly supermarket shop - a sure sign you've been in retail too long.

I actually clean registers (removing extraneous product, straightening this, putting things away) as I go through the line.

They get this a lot in the bookstore, too. You'll have books piled on a table or whatever, or faced out on the shelf, and find a book on the pile right next to where it belongs, or sitting on the shelf next to the face-out. I'd almost rather find them in a completely different section all together. At least I can understand not wanting to walk back across the store and find where it came from. When you're standing right in front of it, just put it back!

I do this, too. I once was at the craft store with my mom, and she was buying one or two small things. While we were waiting in line I collected a whole armload of stuff from the candy rack...spray paint, crayons, picture frames. I don't know if the cashier thought I was crazy or just pitied me...

I have the opposite problem, people can't reach an item one shelf up. We have individual soda cans for sale, one stinking shelf above the six packs. People keeping taking the cans out of the six packs rather than reaching that whole couple of inches for the individuals.

Not only do I face books, but I face DVDs and straighten CDs, too.

I think we need a support group. I'll start.

              Ahem.

Hi, my name is Pagan and I feel the need to straighten where I don't work.

Hi, I'm DGoddessChardonnay and I find myself doing the same thing. Especially if I'm out shopping at the local WM.

Be lucky the SC put the item back so close to where it should be. Usually the place where an unwanted item is dropped off is the farthest from its proper aisle location as humanly possible!

I have this fantasy too. Or at least start taking things out of their carts as they are trying to put them in their cars.

Or they'll cram the book into a space that's too tight, effectively ripping back the paperback cover and making an accordian of the first two chapters worth of pages. I don't know what's so wrong about giving a product to a sales associate if they don't know where it goes!

Ugh, I do that too. It always starts with an innocent "Well, that's not suppose to be there....oh well I'll just move it to the right shelf" and ends with "There! I've reorganized the entire Fiction section"

Problem is I do it as I browse. So I'm shopping and cleaning at the same time. Drives me buggy in December though when half the stores are just a warzone from SCs tearing displays apart.

I was at the mall last weekend, bright and early. At HMV. Store had only been open an hour and half their games section had been reduced from an organized rack into a pile in a bin. There was a bin of el cheapo on sale random accessories behind the games rack. People were just taking the games off the shelf and I guess going "Nope, don't want this" and tossing it into the sales bin behind them like a trash can.

I thought counter girl was going to cry.
