Greetings From San Francisco
Hey everyone,
Originally I posted a rant on Craigslist in San Francisco, and had a few people respond to it, and one of them introduced me here - I dont know his/her name however on here so I cant say it.
I currently work in retail in a division of a major department store where customer service is key, even if we are mistreated, threatened, abused, and complained about by stupid people who need their hands held. Most people I work with are totally oblivious to the fact that we are mistreated, and they think "...its like that wherever you go.." and Im thinking.."well, lets make it NOT like that here!"
My point is, Im glad there is a place I can bitch about my day. I do have a journal and an internet radio show that people can call in about - but you know, nothing beats being on a site with true live feedback almost immediately!
Customers I hate :
Ones that ask "Hows your day going? You look upset" - How the fuck do you think that comment makes me feel?
Ones that dont know what the fuck they want/order/bought and think Im supposed to know because "your the one that took my money" - what does money have ANYTHING to do with YOU KNOWING WHAT YOU BOUGHT!
Ones that cut in line, as if they are the only ones that should be served first and often steal other peoples orders then complain its the "wrong" one.
Ones that dont clean up after themselves and then complain that they shouldnt have to - even though its a bus your own area.
Ones that complain about things that are beyond my control and want a reaction from me, when I fail to give one, they complain MORE!
Ones that complain about things the company does but blame me for not taking inititive to break a rule, policy, and blame me for "..not making the customer happy.."
- one time someone bitched me out for not making him happy for giving him something extra that we MUST throw away unless they pay extra for it and he said.. "so you would rather me go away unhappy never to come here again, then give me something for free!?" and I said.." Actually, YES! If I do what you want, and give you something thats not paid for, its theft, and YOU dont get in trouble, but I lose my job, and frankly, I think its best for the company AND myself if we dont have people like you threatening us or the company because you wanna swindle something for nothing! Thats theft too buddy!"
