  • "Dave Johnson" told me not to turn away his guest

I do not know how to insert a link, but 2 messages I posted on the morons in management section help explain what happened today at work.

    Some background information:
"Dave Johnson" works in a department in the President's office, but not specifically in the President's office.

At the beginning of last year, "Kim" decided that when the garage is reserved, the only other exception I can make in addition to the 4 handicapped spots is if guest specifically going to the President's office arrives & is not on the event list. Then the guest will have to park in one of The President's spots, but Visitor Parking/Community Relations has to contact that office first. This information is stated on page 1 of the guidelines I was given. If the guest was going to a department located in the President's office, but not specifically the President'soffice, the would have to find alternative parking.

So "Dave Johnson" knocks on the door to the booth to let me know that 1) a guest of his will be arriving (I had already checked my e-mail & received a message from "Kim" telling me his guest would be arriving; "Dave Johnson's assistant" e-mailed her) & 2) to not turn him away because he is "important"

This explains why "Kim" asked me when she drove up to the booth this morning to park in the garage if it was reserved.

The 2 messages I posted in the morons in management section explain his behavior. I have a feeling that "Joe" in Facilities notified him that 1) I turned his guest away when the garage was reserved & there was not a reservation for him & 2) I should have known that "important" people should not be turned away even when the garage is reserved. So now I am a mind reader.

So I e-mailed "Larry", the parking company manager over the accouont, this information, & I let him know that 1) we all need to be on the same page regarding the guidelines I & my co-worker need to follow & 2) I feel that we all need to be made away of any changes.
