Nathan Fillion's blog on how to have a pleasant flight

And all I can say is... Holy crap!
My respect for for him has just skyrocketed...

Be clean. You are going to be around a lot of people. Be sure that your B.O. or breath does not offend. THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. (This is actually a daily responsibility, just more important in small, closed spaces like a plane.) Bring gum.
The "THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY" part got my attention.
Too many people in the world don't understand they have any responsiblity

Edit: Planetfeedback's complainers need to read that too

Put yourself together, but comfortably. If it's a long, long flight, dress in something you can sleep in, but something NICE you can sleep in.
Dude sorry but when I have a 3 hour flight, a 5 hour layover and then another 12 hour flight I am changing into my pjyamas when I get on the plane... your lucky Im not trying to wear a sleeping bag. If my businesses if covered and Im clean then count yourself lucky.

For flights I interpret nice to be something that was clean when I arrived at the airport and won't get me in trouble with customs. After 20+ hours of travel time nothing you wear is going to be nice.
How was I supposed to know someone was slipping you Birth Control in the food I've been making for you lately?

yeah even Nathan said he didn't mean a suit. I suspect he meant "clean and not looking like it came from a rat's nest" etc.

and i liked his comments on being tall in the seats.
it just reminded me of all of those PFB whines about other passengers being too big or too tall... and here his take on it is "ways to be comfortable without being rude to others" which i think more people should do

          Get a Snuggie

I've only flown a couple times. I wore my comfiest jeans (I am actually comfortable in jeans), a t-shirt, and a sweatshirt or hoodie that I could fall asleep in. And my sneakers, because they were the biggest shoes I was bringing with me so I didn't have to stuff them in my bag.

I love him. I've gotten into watching his new show (Castle). I love him. And he's only 4 years older than me...hmmm....

            and he's nice to cats.
still love the story bout how he was dismayed that his house came with a cat ("I'm not a cat person") ... and now the cat is living like a princess.

              Sounds like my dad...

"I hate cats I hate cats I hate cats"

-always let my aunt's cat sit in his lap
-can be found every night reading in bed or sleeping with girlcat perched on his side
-got more upset than anyone else when he thought the boycat got loose

              Yeah, he hates cats
