  • Dress Code Suck...

*sighs* they are making us have a "uniformed" dress code. Solid blue shirts and black pants.
Not the most terrible thing in the world... but I have spent about $100+ bucks on work clothes just recently... and now I can wear about 3 items of them... it just sucks. ((Hundred bucks is ALOT to me considering I don't usually make more than $300 per pay check))

    *sigh* just got me down.

    That freaking SUCKS!

And they mustn't have given you any warning either. Otherwise you wouldn't have just bought all those new clothes.

Can they do that? I know my job makes everyone sign a dress code acknowledgment. Are they allowed to change it like that on you?

      Probably.

I've been through two dress code changes at the swamp. We never had to sign off on anything when the changes were announced.

Did your dress code get stricter or more lenient, Irv? Ours got a bit looser at the Night Place, but it's been the same for the whole time I've been at the Medicine Hat.

My company will proved the shits/aprons/hats but we allowed to wear any long pants. Most people wear jeans.

Last Aug we changed uniforms. At least they ordered quality shirts that didn't run in the wash for the first two weeks or hats that didn't fall apart.

wow, your managers suck. I've known about the uniform change since May...maybe even April...

eh, i got enough black trousers and blue tops, so I'm not that worried. Maybe now ppl will actually follow our dresscode

I find it odd that I was threatened w/ a write-up for pursuing a shoplifter, but the ppl who wear printed shirts/non-compliant clothing are never spoken to >.>

                Stricter.

First change--shirts go from red, which you can buy anyplace and can be a t-shirt, polo or sweater, so long as it's some kind of red, to a company-issued blue polo. Or a white button-down dress shirt you can buy anyplace. Cargo pants are now forbidden, as are black jeans.

Second change--shirt goes to the current green company-issued polo.

Our uniform is the company issued polo and black or khaki pants. Jeans are strictly forbidden. The courtesy clerks can wear shorts during the summer, but they have to be knee length. They provide an apron and cap for people working in the perimeter departments.
