  • Revenge is delicious when it's cold . . .

No, I didn't kill anyone . . . considered it about 3 - 4 years ago, but decided against it. Too messy, I didn't want to be bothered with having to dig graves, etc. etc. . .

Heard two bits of news over the past week . . . and yes, Cheetah is still doing fine as wine.

First bit: the DSD girl who replaced me at my old store (ie, she was given my job right off the street from another chain that had went bust 3 years this coming November) is gone from the company.

Yes, she was canned like a tuna . . . according to the vendor rep who told me this last Wednesday, she was stealing cigarettes. She had been seen on camera sliding a pack of smokes into her pants pocket while bent over in the cigarette case behind the kiosk. AM confronted her outside the store a short time later and they went into the office, where she was terminated.

Don't know if they have pressed charges against her, but still. She had easy access to them, as it had been the DSD person who makes out the cigarette orders and stocks them. My guess is that she's been doing it a while (possibly the entire time she worked at that store) and just now got caught.

I think I know how she did this, as I can recall every inch of both backroom areas of that store (I worked there for over 2 1/2 years) and can tell you where all the cameras are. There's one corner of the backroom where the camera doesn't reach (the main backroom off behind the Dairy aisle) and another section in the DSD check in area (or what was that area when I was there) where the cameras didn't reach. She could have easily stashed them while in either of those areas and wouldn't have been seen.

But that's moot. Some folks may have said I didn't know what I was doing when I was at that store, but at least I never stole anything

Speaking of who said I didn't know what I was doing . . . just today I heard from Opie that the same manager who posted my job back at the old store (while I was still in that job) got busted down yet again.

Yep . . . Gambler got busted down (for you newbies, this manager was lazy, hung out at the lottery machine at the CS desk half the day and had the nerve to say I didn't know how to do the DSD job even though I'd been doing it for 3 years at that time and had been hired as one from my previous chain, where I'd been doing that job as well as several others over the last 10 years I worked there. He also looked a bit like Kenny Rogers before the plastic surgery disaster, hence his nickname.)

He had been busted down after he'd left my previous store and made an AM, then after I was transferred to my current store, he had been busted down further to a Grocery Manager (and pay adjusted accordingly.) Now, he's been busted down to a . . . .

    DSD Receiver.

It's just too damn funny . . . now he's on the bottom of the totem pole like we are and he's now stuck with the job that he used to say I couldn't do. He'll actually have to work now, or if he lets his cleaning/rotation list get behind, he can get busted further down for it (that's what happened to the DSD girl who replaced me before she got canned last week. She got busted for being 2 months behind and it was discovered during a store audit.)

As my Mom says: every dog has their day. And both of them have had theirs now.

Cheetah has reformed, Gambler is now busted all the way down to a DSD receiver, the other DSD girl got busted down to p/t cashier and has now been fired. Tarzan is still over in the area from which he originated from (and last I heard, he had been busted down to an AssMan.)

    Life is good.

And, as is usually the case, Karma works when you least expect it. She's sneaky that way.
