The saga continues!
I thought that the sun was peeking through the clouds recently at work. The owner stopped by for a chat. He's taking over management of the company again. (By the way, when he was manager a few years back, things were MUCH better.)
He was doing EXACTLY what a good manager should do. He was going from department to department, getting feedback, listening to complaints.
Ah, complaints. He got quite a few of those when he talked to the suppliers. We talked about our grievances with the Deadly Trio (Mr. Testicles, Dumb, and Dumber). I made sure to mention the discount rate that THEY imposed, the one where, if we supply TOO MUCH in any given month when the others don't meet their "quotas", we're docked a certain amount for going above the limit. He didn't seem surprised.
Now, he really got my hopes up by his talk of pruning the company tree. I even went out and splurged with some goodies.
However, that was a while ago, and the Unholy Trinity still hold sway. I've been getting even more trivial messages from Dumber. I sent Dumb my objections to the whole quota mess, and Dumb, who can switch gears with the best of them, made first one claim, then another. I promptly pointed this out; if one claim was true, I stated, the other was false. Can't have it both ways, you stupid, incompetent, lazy ass. (No, I didn't make that last statement, but OH was I tempted to do it!)
I talked about it with another supplier, who hadn't heard anything from Dumber in some time, and was surprised to hear she was still there. "Unfortunately," I sighed, "yes." This other supplier thinks that they're on their way out, and pointed out that it does take time to rearrange a company's employment structure. This is true; I only hope that if it does happen, it happens soon. I wouldn't hire the three of them to clean toilets (no offense to those who do). I can just imagine what would happen if they did have a job like that:
1. They'd give all kinds of reasons why they couldn't do it.
2. They'd order someone else to do it.
3. They'd claim on-the-job injury.
4. They'd pretend they were hired to do something else.
Yes, folks, they're stupid, they're irrational, they have no people skills, and they were put in middle management.
