  • Health Care insurance worse then tech support?!

Yes, I said it, the health care job is friggen KILLING ME. There is stupid, and then there is just moronic. People argue things that are in their damn plans, in a nice glossy drool-proof brocure...wait this sounds just like computer tech support.

I need a job that doesnt involve ACD, ACW, and AHT.

Oh, and doctors and their staff are all friggen stupid, be afraid.

I wish I could post some of the lovely calls I get, but HIPAA keeps me from doing so...

Oh, and today was the last day of Open Season for the Federal Government, which means my least favorite customers [feds] were calling in droves. They are horrible, they will sit there and be like "On page 54 it says this, what does that mean?" And its a line like Copay: $20. *HEAD DESK* Or the feds that want to know everything about the OTHER companies benefits, like it really is my job to sell you Cigna when you called UNITED HEALTH CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ARGH!

I have some serious ranting...i might just stalk into chat where life is a little safer and memory is a little shorter.

there was a time a few months ago, when i went to the doctor for a pulled muscle in my neck, and a painfully sore foot.
The whole visit was billed for the foot, so i had to pay it all.
When i called my insurence people to find out what was going on, why i had to pay it all, they said because it had billed that way...

I just laughed. Then asked for another packet of insurence information to be mailed to my current address so this didnt happen again.

I love having an insurence that covers NOTHING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO ME ON THE JOB!!!... well for the most part...

      Oh God...FEP....FEDS...NO, no, no!

I worked on the other end of their bennies...their meds (I'm sure you can guess where that is )...and they are indeed the RUDEST, nastiest people out there. Totally self absorbed and entitlement whores to the nth degree. And if you work for United Healthcare, you get the AT&T customers too, aren't they just a bunch of living dolls?

Welcome to my world, Battyone. The bar is in the corner.

Symposes, not sure where you're located at, but check into the Worker's Compensation program in your area - this is designed to cover costs for on-the-job injuries like what you described. Generally speaking, no private (as in, employer-sponsored) insurance plans will cover an OJI if you live in an area where there is Worker's Comp. Still, I know it's frustrating having to find that out the hard way...good luck.

When I was at my old job, I stumped my big toe, now prior to that, I dropped a 16ft, 4x6 on that foot 2 times in a row. Now a couple of years later, I stumped my big toe, big time at work. I stumped so hard that it looked like I had an ingrown toe-nail. The doctor kept saying that, thats what it was. I had to keep arguing with the doctor, he keep telling me that I was lying to him. Everyone that went to that doctor, kept saying the samething happened to them, they he would say that they will lying about something. I left a few months after that.

Try this one Batty, I do Tech Support for a physicians billing office! It amazes me that a doctor who can re-route an intestinal tract can't seem to copy and paste a paragraph to and e-mail without help.

Sadly, I have known this for quite some time, without ever having worked in the field of medicine (or health insurance).

Then again, I have been described as cynical in the past.

A prior US president* once said "Government managed health care would combine the efficiency of the post office with the compassion of the CIA."

Damn, that's so much better than what we have... why haven't we done it yet?!

(I'm currently caught in one of the stupidest billing issues I've ever pictured, BTW.)
