  • Hummer vs. Lamppost

I really should go out more for lunch break, I get treated with the most funny sights and directly infront of and in our offices too.

As I walked along the street towards our offices, a Hummer (quite rare here in Germany, I thought: Awwww so sorry 'bout your small d*ck) drove along not that fast but fishtailing quite a bit. About 10 meters ahead he lost control and rammed into a lamppost, one of those huge streetlamps. It's been very cold lately here, so the metall must have gone brittle, because the post broke in two where it had been hit and fell onto the Hummer denting the roof considerably and made the windscreen shatter. The driver got out, unharmed. Sadly my mobile phone camera seems to be broken, the pics I made are completely out of focus and have a green tinge, I hope someone else in the office has pics or it's covered somewhere in the news, it looked so funny.

Our receptionist had already called the police and I offered the guy to wait in the warmth of our lobby to wait for them. When they arived they were quite happy too to conduct their questionings out of the cold wind. I told them what I had seen. But apparently the driver had told them that there was another car involved, ummm nope I hadn't seen any other car, neither had the receptionist, oooops. Which was when the rant started, we were lying a*holes etc and he even tried to attack us. Free ride to the police station for the guy. Tomorrow the receptionist and I will go and sign our statements, hopefully we can find out more.

It took them almost 2 hours and some heavy machinery to remove Hummer and streetlamp. I really hope the drivers third party insurance covers streetlamps.

I almost had sympathy for him (hey, his screwup broke his expensive car.... status symbol... thing.), but then I read he attacked you, so no sympathy from me.

Bwahaha. Lying douche caught out and then gets himself a trip to the pokey for having to prove his stupidity.

I had some sympathy for the guy too, it sucks when you damage your expensive car, even if it's a penis extension. But lying and then attacking others? Nope sympathy gone... He created this mess himself.
The policeofficers weren't thrilled either, more forms to fill for them.
Oh well, no one was hurt, only the ego of a Hummer driver.

Yeeeeahhh, those pesky invisible cars always getting in your penis'....I mean your hummer's way! Wonder what was making him lose control like that? Ice could be a contributing factor.

No one in the office made pics, drat.

The trip to the police station proved to be very interesting. The receptionist and I went to sign our statements this morning. Of course the police officer couldn't tell us everything, but the hints she could give... oh my... that driver is in trouble. Turned out that he was on speed and cocaine, he can kiss his driving licence good bye for a while. There must be more, because he's still in custody, he wouldn't be just for the DUI and being aggresive.
I doubt I'll find out more. But that driver pwnd himself for good.

If he was on drugs, there might have been some still in the car. And if he's a user *and* still able to afford such a car, there might have been a relatively large quantity, neatly bagged up...

We think so too, I guess they checked his car and found more than a few bags for personal use. I'm still amazed at the stupidity of that guy, if he hadn't attacked us, he wouldn't be in this trouble. But who can tell what's going on in a brain fried by all sorts of drugs.

not to mention that he will probably have to pay for the damage to the property AND pay to get his car out of impound

Hummers are good. They keep lots of local people employed.

If it's still there when he gets out of jail. And from the sound of things, that could be a few years.
