I really should go out more for lunch break, I get treated with the most funny sights and directly infront of and in our offices too.
As I walked along the street towards our offices, a Hummer (quite rare here in Germany, I thought: Awwww so sorry 'bout your small d*ck) drove along not that fast but fishtailing quite a bit. About 10 meters ahead he lost control and rammed into a lamppost, one of those huge streetlamps. It's been very cold lately here, so the metall must have gone brittle, because the post broke in two where it had been hit and fell onto the Hummer denting the roof considerably and made the windscreen shatter. The driver got out, unharmed. Sadly my mobile phone camera seems to be broken, the pics I made are completely out of focus and have a green tinge, I hope someone else in the office has pics or it's covered somewhere in the news, it looked so funny.
Our receptionist had already called the police and I offered the guy to wait in the warmth of our lobby to wait for them. When they arived they were quite happy too to conduct their questionings out of the cold wind. I told them what I had seen. But apparently the driver had told them that there was another car involved, ummm nope I hadn't seen any other car, neither had the receptionist, oooops. Which was when the rant started, we were lying a*holes etc and he even tried to attack us. Free ride to the police station for the guy. Tomorrow the receptionist and I will go and sign our statements, hopefully we can find out more.
It took them almost 2 hours and some heavy machinery to remove Hummer and streetlamp. I really hope the drivers third party insurance covers streetlamps.
