  • Ignorance is bliss....most of the time. (Or howcome I hate Prom Season)

Cleaning up magazines (AGAIN!), and as i'm at a table trying to sort them out, one of the Manga magazines is open to this image. I'm busy trying to get the old stuff and damaged out of the new, when a woman walks by and sees the image.

Customer: Oh, thats such a cute dress on her!! I think that would look good for my girl for Prom!!

....and she grabs the magazine and walks off with it.

    I bluntly state to myself:

Me: ....up until you find out thats a young boy in girls clothing.

    God I hate prom season.

    ....Best anime ever...

    Just putting that out there.

I hate prom season too. I am so happy I don't have to deal with THAT particular flavor of HELL anymore.

You've seen nothing until you see angry mothers trying to return worn prom dresses to the DEB store; even though they have HUGE PINK SIGNS stating no returns on formal wear. Security even got called on one mom who was making a scene about returning a dress, even though it had been worn AND ALTERED!!!

I DO think that dress looked very cute though! Gotta love manga.

Hmm, pic kinda reminds me of a Gothic Lolita look. Not sure that's what mommy was looking for though.

And stories about returning formal wear! May I suggest a new thread, 'cause I would lurve to hear more!

Nice dress but if I was going to wear anything I would be wearing the school dress of Ouran High School.

I guess mom had in mind, "it's long so she does't look like a tramp and her date probably won't get into her pants, it's so outdated."

That is a nice dress. A little ornate, but I suppose it's within the bounds for Prom.

Used to work at DEB. Been there, done that......I'll take your angry mother and raise you an idiot teenaged girl who wants to return a prom dress the Sunday afternoon after prom that completely wreeks of pot.

I'd gladly have traded you your prom versus my night of sitting.

Then someone points out that she's not wearing pants because she's wearing a dress, so of course the guy won't be trying to get in her pants.

Well if she's going for the boy in girls clothes a few socks or a banana should do the trick
