I hope he hasn't retired. I always dreamed of going to see him.

That was always in the back of my mind as something to do. Thats kinda sad. I wonder if its over.

I always wondered though...who would waste half a bottle of good cognac?

A friend of mine said the person that leaves the toasts is a member of the Poe museum staff (or volunteer) and it is a big publicity stunt. I don't know if that is true or not, but eh, the lack of the toast this year has given the museum free publicity.

Oh, *that's* what that is. I was imagining a semi-transparent toaster floating around with a little lamp.
Now the trouble about trying to make yourself stupider than you really are is that you very often succeed.

Or a toaster making ominous noises from under the floorboards.

Next year, I predict at least three Poe Toasters, possibly more. If the regular guy, who has been doing this for sixty years, didn't show, he could be dead. Granted, he could also be sick or called away for an emergency or maybe his car broke down. But Poe fans are going to assume that he's dead, and several of them will say "It's up to me now!" And next year several people will have their dramatic moment ruined when they run into each other in the graveyard carrying roses and cognac.

The guys on our radio stated that since it's been happening for so long, the person doing it could have passed away.

One time, the note the P.T (poe toaster) left at the gravesite once said, he was passing the torch on to his 2 sons. And it wasnt tooo long ago i believe. So, unless they both died suddenly, or something thatd be unlikely, i think.

But this was the 60th year for it. So, IDK....a possibility i guess.
