  • Crimes not reported at the library

One of the local tv stations did a story on crimes not reported at the libraries. We are suppose to call the police when people are inapproiately touched, or people are masturbating.

One guy was masturbating at a laptop in the library I worked at. He was told to leave but the police wasn't contacted.

Another guy was in the kids area in one library, masturbating. He was reported to the police one time, but not another time he did the same thing.

A scary thing, guy lures kid somewhere in the lbirary and touches the kid, mom calls cops.

    here's the link. http://www.click2houston.com/news/22335621/detail.html

I'm use to people looking at porn. I say stuff to the patron, and write an incident report. Either they get a warning or get kicked out. Calling the cops sounds grand. Luckily we have one working most of the time (it's overtime for the cops-they don't have to work here so we don't always have a cop) but I hope this means I can be more pro-active in getting people kicked out after the cop gets called then the perv just gets a talking too.
Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

    I wish porn had subtitles.

We've had problems with library patrons using the Internet to surf for porn where I live, but I haven't heard of people masturbating at the library. Probably would cover it up if they were.

Technically, it's a sex crime: lewd conduct. Anyone ballsy enough to do that in public is stupid enough to have already been nailed for a similar offense.

I'd say you should call the cops, every time.
They say that God only gives us what we can handle. Apparently, God thinks I'm a bad ass.

At the library I work at we haven't had problems with people masturbating inside but last year we had a guy who would stand outside of a window looking into the children's section and masturbate. Unfortunately by the time the patron would complain and staff would tell us and us running out there he was long gone. We never caught him and the cops were called each time(it happened about 4 times) but the end result is that the library put a window design on the window so that prevents people from seeing inside and people seeing out

        makes me wonder....

got a sick idea but it could be something to consider...

a new user agreement form to use the computers.
that violators of the rules will have their photos posted along with the violation.

so when creepy-person is caught jerking off in the kids section
you get to post a photo of him or her along with the title of "public masturbation in children's area"
