  • Ignorance to the Law

In Ohio we stop selling alcohol at 1am. I often get asked to break the rules and I simply refuse because I went to college and am looking for a real job or about to join the military both of which become near impossible when you get arrested for selling alcohol at wrong times or to underage people. My favorite was 2:30am a guy insisted that I must be wrong and once I had him convinced he asked if I could do it anyways. Along with all the cameras on me since we a big chain, 3 people were on their lunch break hanging out talking to each other as WITNESSES to everything I was doing. Knowing it would be against THE LAW the guy tried one more time to get me to let him have the beer. The best part is 1 of the 3 was a uniformed police officer with his car sitting outside our front door. I didn't do it for $50, an offer of this guys gfs slutty hot friend taking me into the office, and im not gonna do it when you say please in front of a cop.

the gas station I used to work at was in a township/village that stopped alcohol sales at 9pm while most of the surounding communities sold til midnight. I had the very same conversaion sooooo many times during the summer/football training camp/nights before home football games.

people tried to literally yank the locked/blocked doors to our beer cooler off the hindges to get at their presious beer.
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

This is why I feel so bad for the people in the town just north of us. I think they finally repealed the law, but for decades you couldn't buy alcohol on Sunday. I heard stories of employees getting beer bottles and other items chucked at their heads by pissed-off patrons. Yikes!

Haha, yeah when I first started we used to lock our beer coolers at 1am, it kinda helped and ment I didn't need to watch people as closely, someone broke the key and it appears it must have been the only key in the whole corporation because they have yet to replace it months later. Im also a male wearing a female style large shirt because they got new uniforms and mine is on back order still and my management telling me to calm down, at this point I think it probably sexual harassment

The little supermarket near me has roller-shutters over the booze shelves. Outside legal hours, those shelves are locked down.
