I was told that this is a joke about Manitoba accents, but it's funny even if you don't really recognise them.
A woman calls in, heavy low German accent "I need to speak to my man."
"I'm sorry, you know that people can't just come from the shop floor to talk on the phone. Can I take a message for you?"
"Tell him not to forgot to pick up the p'lease cookies."
The woman on the phone is somewhat confused by this. "I see the line's just shutting down for break, how about I get your husband for you just this one time?"
He comes to the phone. "Yes?"
"I'm just calling to remind you to not forget to pick up some p'lease cookies."
"Yes, I won't forget to pick up the p'lease cookies. But next time, remember that they're called cop-cakes."
