Award wining artist...admits theft

Basically a girl saw a picture she really liked on a DA page. Liked it so much she took it as her own and won a very high award with it.

She has now lost that award but with all the artist themed threads, I thought y'all would like to see this. LINK

Oh good, that was resolved in the original artist's favor. I was worried about that, because one of the people I watch on DA posted a journal about it.

I honestly don't think they're similar at all. (the videos, that is)

I agree with some of the comments - saying it was as similar to that film as it was to ideas such as James and the Giant Peach (with the thousands of seagulls flying a home), or just anyone who thought about flight when holding a balloon (and if you've played Chrono Trigger...). It's a fairly general concept. Not to mention the production for Up started in 2004.

But Up adds so much more- the backstory of the characters, it's an old man who floats his house, not the ground around it, with balloons instead of one big hot air balloon, and is actually -going- somewhere for a reason, rather than just flying for the heck of it. Plus then the extra plot involving what he finds when he gets there.
