  • The third shift stockers at my store are idiots

I work in the health and beauty care section of my store, and the third shift stockers drive me insane. For whatever reason beyond all rationalization, they love to put things on the shelves both backwards and upside down. Meaning customers can't even see what the item is and it looks like hell. The worst is when they put toothpaste in backwards and upside. One or the other would be annoying enough, why backwards AND upside down? How much frickin' THOUGHT does it take to put something on the shelf with the label facing out so people can, I don't know...see what it is? So then I have to pull the stuff out and put it in correctly. They also overstock...big time. It's totally ridiculous. They'll have things stuffed so full that you touch one shampoo bottle and twenty fall on the floor. And it just looks like hell. Then I have to load a cart with all of the overstock and give it back to them. The other day I gave them their cart of overstock with all the items lying upside down...but I doubt that they're bright enough to get the hint. I have my own job to do, which is time consuming and demanding enough without having to constantly do these fools' jobs as well. I'm sure some of them are very hard-working people who take their jobs seriously...but oberviously there are some who either don't know their ass from a whole in the ground or just don't give a shit.

I will admit to stocking certain things backwards. Most notably kitchen appliances. One side of the box has product names, descriptions, and so forth in English. The other has that same information in Spanish. If anybody asks me about this, I'm saying I did that for the benefit of our bilingual customers.

Hey, I'm in a hurry. I sometimes overlook things like that. There's no excuse for throwing stuff in there upside down though.

We have humongous problems with overstock at the swamp too, but a lot of that is due to picky rules corporate has that forbid you from stocking an item even if it looks like it will fit in certain circumstances. But we have so many people stocking things and you don't find out about these rules until you've broken them, because it's difficult and time-consuming to explain these rules to 50 different people.
