  • Count down dare

Coworker and I were set to leave at the same time today.

At the Whole, we operate on the 1 cashier = 1 drawer policy, so we have to make our own deposits at the end of the shift and build the till for the next day.

Coworker said he'd count down faster than me and get the paperwork filled out faster. Then said he'd be more accurate than me. Then even said he'd rung more than I did.

He got in the cash office several minutes ahead of me, but yet I was completely done with everything and waiting for a FES to verify everything about the time he finished building his drawer.

He was still working on his deposit when I clocked out, I dropped back in the office after punching out to see the results.

I balanced to the penny. He was short $1.12.

His till was $30.02 over when he handed it in to be verified (this isn't the deposit, just the till, it was supposed to have exactly $400.00).

He rung about $6200. I rung $12700. This is 3 days in a row where I've been in the $13k area (Friday I was at 13,500, today and yesterday it's been in the high 12's).

The only thing he had me beat on was number of customers, he got about 230, I had a mere 150... but he was on express, so what do you expect.

So uh, yeah.. no lesson or anything here, but I almost always balance to the penny. Coworker rarely balances.

He was on the express and thought he had more value than you?
A lion however, will only devour your corpse, whereas an SC is not sated until they have destroyed your soul. (Quote per infinitemonkies)

I should point on that when I'm on express, I'm normally around 275-300 customers for the day. Last time I was on it I got 330.
