  • Stolen Items in the Stairwell

So I discovered what the noise I heard in the stairwell at 3 am was. Nope, not a bundle buggy. It's the EW version of it instead - a stolen shopping cart. At least that's what I would assume, based on the fact that it's currently sitting at the bottom of the stairs.

And yes, I know that I ought to have gone and checked what was happening. However, it obviously wasn't the bike getting stolen again, and there is a REASON that I always sent DH out anyhow. I have about zero conflict resolution skills, and would likely start a big fight. Especially over something like a shopping cart. Just buy a bundle buggy already. If DH can use it at 195, you are NOT too tall to use them. Buy a wagon and tie a string to the handle if it bugs you that much.

    Um, what's a "bundle buggy"?
It's floating wicker propelled by fire!

I was wondering the same thing.

I would assume it's something like this? http://www.supplierlist.com/photo_im...pping_Cart.jpg Our neighbor uses them for her shopping because she rarely, if ever, drives anywhere.

Hot damn, I saw those all over the place in Corpus Christi! I always thought of Yomiko (Yamiko?) Readman when I saw them. Was always empty, though, never actually saw anyone carry groceries or purchases with it.

How come they stopped putting those little hooks on the front of the store shopping carts to hang your personal shopping cart on? Now I have to leave my own cart at the front and hope it doesn't walk away before I get back.

(Did I just give away my age? Hope not...)

Oh, there was this one incredibly ancient Italian lady who lived on my parents' block who was the whole neighborhood's honorary grandmother, always greeted everyone with a smile and a How ya doin'. She always walked around pushing an empty shopping cart. We eventually figured out that she was using it in lieu of a walker.

The posted link is what I always called a bundle buggy. What are they called elsewhere? (I like being able to translate!)

And around here the carts have racks on the bottom, so as long as your bundle buggy is empty enough to fold up you can put it on the bottom. I would LOVE a hook on the front of the carts though. (I'd also like a bundle buggy built for someone who's not even shorter than me. While I'm dreaming, I'd like a pony too).

I've heard them as folding shopping carts or grocery carts.

Yup, we call 'em granny carts here.

We refer to ours, however, as the folding cart.
