  • I just got into a confrontation in a Walmart parking lot

So yeah, I just got finishede chewing out a redneck chick in the Walmart parking lot about an hour ago for leaving a pitbull inside an Intrepid with the windows barely cracked. The temperature sensor on my roof read low nineties, plus it was very humid here today.

Why do I forget myself sometimes and go in there? Why?

I called the cops, too, but they never showed up.

She could hardly pull the "I was only gone five minutes" horseshit, either, because she pretty much filled her trunk with groceries.

I am a little pissed off at myself, too, because as you can probably imagine, I was less than nice about it.

Don't get me wrong...you leave a dog in a car, you deserve more than being bitched at, you deserve an apocolyptic size ass-kicking. However, me being a bitch isn't going to teach anyone anything. I suppose maybe, just maybe, it's possible that she actually has been living under a rock and does not realize what she's doing. I kind of wish I had I simply informed her that she may not realize she might come back one day to find her dog horribly dead or brain damaged. She seemed to think that since she cracked the windows and brought back some water, what she did was okay.

I dunno, man. On one hand, she's a fking idiot. On the other, I am such a fking bitch sometimes.

    Sigh.

Sometimes it's GOOD being a bitch. I oughta know...I'm an equal opportunity bitch. I'll snap somebody's head off in a blink of an eye...LOL!

Did this confrontation involve an actual ass-kicking, deserved or not? No? Then don't feel bad - please verbally bitch-slap away!

Should have told dispatch that it was a baby. They would have stormed there fast.

Then when it's shown it was a dog, ask "Well, it looked like a baby to me, or "Puppies are babies too"

I live in Canada, so it's usually a tolerable temperature, but i think smashing windows is in order when people are that self centered.

What would you do, if you saw someone break into a car to steal a dog in hot weather?

There was just an article in our paper about babies/pets in cars; in the 80's the car can get to 110 in 15 minutes with the windows cracked 2-inches!

Yet people still do it because it's convenient, they'll only be gone for a minute, they can't bear to leave their dog/cat behind, etc.

You go! I've yelled at people too, and called the police. I was usually backed-up by others too.

This is why I don't take my dogs anywhere. Well, that and they're not very well behaved in public. One is the ZOMGPEOPLE!!! type and the other one gets overwhelmed and growly after awhile. The latter is also a handful on a lead.

I think you showed restraint by not throwing her in the trunk and closing it.

Same here. And we're supposed to get up to 100-105F this weekend. Southern part of the state, 105-110F.

                          I agree.

I once caught my teenage son carrying our indoor cat outside to run an errand in his car. It was winter time. I snatched the cat away and not-so-calmly explained why that's a bad idea.

WTF is wrong with these people? Do they live under rocks and not read news reports? Or are they just so fucking selfish and entitled that they don't care what happens to the pet they claim to love so much?

... I always wanted to take my cat on a roadtrip. She hates being in a carriage, but she loved car rides when she wasn't locked up in a cage.

I'm waiting for the the first news report of someone leaving their kid in the car here. (And for the first fishing out of a "swimmer" in an irrigation ditch.)

Nobody should ever leave a kid or an animal alone in a car, but for some reason, it seems to happen more in the summer. It's like the heat addles what few brain cells they have.
