but I'm bragging on my crew and our customers so I'll throw it in here.
I haven't posted in forever but I've been a bit busy. Opening a new, larger store as an RTL, with the increased pay and mucho overtime will do that.
Our grand opening was Thursday, Friday and Saturday of last week. We'd been open for a couple weeks already but that's when corporate scheduled the party and woah boy, was it a big one! Mostly for the Grand Opening I coordinated getting the stock out on the floor and transferring out to other stores the massive, massive amounts of yarn we were sent before we opened. Seriously, we were swimming in yarn in the back room.
I was the closing MOD for Saturday night. A couple other stores had sent managers to help out for the last couple days so there was actually another manager on the floor with me that night so I only had to be in 2 places at once instead of 4. Said manager had appropriate override codes but no keys so I was only called to places that needed to be unlocked or to handle a problem involving a customer and an employee.
There was only one problem with that last scenario. There were no problems. I was called to the Customer Service desk to talk to customers 10 times Saturday night and every time they were wanting to tell me either that specifically one of our employees was extremely helpful or that every employee they'd met that night was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I've never filled out so many Cut Above cards in one night.
So, go team!
