Our office is getting ready to get some major overhaul done (total rebuild, new carpets, tile, the works), so we've been on a cleaning spree the last week or so.
The IT manager hires MG to take away some old computers and other parts that he can't use anymore, as well as some other items from a few other managers for recycling. I'm working on something as MG comes in asking for the IT manager. When he gets to the front desk, IT asks MG where his dolly is since he's going to be carting down a lot of stuff.
MG: Oh..I didn't think I'd need it right away.
IT: This stuff is ready to go.
MG: Well, I don't have it.
Now, apparently IT used MG to move some furniture and he was pretty professional then. MG says that since it's just some computer parts, he doesn't need to be as professional.
Say what?
Apparently MG thought it would be just a few things. Not 3 carts of towers, monitors and other old hardware. After everything is collected, he comes back and says that he's going to need the cart so he can get it off his truck and to the recycling center.
Uh..no. We'll never see the cart again if we do that. MG got a bit pissy but left after that. I told IT what he'd asked for and he just rolled his eyes, mumbling about what a professional the guy was.
