  • A few Quick Vegas Tales

So i went to Vegas for a whole 24 hours, i had fun but of course i have a few sightings but not much.

The Go the Long Way Clerk

So we where staying at circus circus, which like many many many resorts on the strip has multiple towers and amenities on-site. We where staying the not so 5 star but much easier to access and very quiet Manor buildings, which is basically their Motel ones but seriously they were pretty nice.

When we where checking in I looked at the map and saw there was a moving walkway leading from the pavilion on the second floor to the parking lot to the Manor buildings.

I ask the lady about it and the best way to go get to our rooms.

She then tells me its best to not have my brother drive the car over there and us take the other stuff through the pavilion but to walk outside and go over there now from the outside to the Manor buildings and have my brother go back for the car.

Yeah..... She LIED! it took a lot of traffic dodging and lugging in 113 heat and a long walk for my brother.

I tried the pavilion route later...

It took 7 minutes. And i saw other people using it as a route to take their suitcases to their room.

Learn your resort a little better lady.

Thats right, Lets Perpetuate stereo types

The rest of the first night was pretty good, so no stories until the next morning at breakfast.
We went to the Circus Circus buffet.

As we are being lead to our seats this happened.

I am much lower than my mother and siblings, i attribute it to me being shorter with short legs and a weird hip, so i walk about 5 feet behind them almost all the time.

As we go past a server lady cleaning up some tables a man shoves me aside into a pillar. I move to yell at him when he sits at his table glares at me and turns and speaks in french to the woman he is sitting with.

Rude french men.... Nice way to fight a stereotype there buddy.

Mother of the Year isnt for you but you are in the top 10

    The M&M store.

    I had to go.
    I love chocolate.
    I love M&Ms.
I love the Green M&M the most.

    So we go.

Now i know to expected kids in the M&M store but mothers watch your children.
Especially the pick-up-able and steal-able one like this little 4/5 year old of the story.

So im heading to the make your own special bag of M&Ms area to grab some pink and silver M&Ms and dark chocolate Peanut M&Ms.

I am walk gingerly by this time because i haven't really relaxed in 24 hours, slept weird because of a tornado nightmare, and only slept like 5 hours at that.

I walk by not aying attention mom and her tween daughter, when her 4/5 year old comes around the counter stomps on my left foot and runs to his mom.

Did i mention that my feet already hurt.
I yelled loudly. My foot really hurt now, its still kind of swollen
I looked at the mom expecting at least an apology. She gives me the big stink eye of death, tells the little boy to stay closer and walks away.

I yell back ' No really im fine whats a little blood in ones shoe'

On the positive side i love dark chocolate M&Ms with peanuts.

    A good siting.

We were hanging out in the MGM cause its close to the M&M store, we play a few slots and stuff and my brother plays blackjack cause he finally found a table with other people at so didn't feel like the Uni-bomber.

The lady dealer of course card him which he loved because he is usually thought to be older cause he is big and scraggly looking and appears to be almost 30 sometimes.

i played some slots lost my money (I went with 9 bucks cash planning on playing penny slots until i lost it all, then since my mom and brother wanted me not be bored the plyed me with an additional 12 dollars so woohoo. Atone point when i was on my own money i was up to 25 dollars woohoo) so i went over to talk to him and see hows hes doing. Since i basically look my age finally in my life the dealer cards me too( i use to look 5 years older no matte what, 10 i looked 16 14 i looked 19 18 i looked 23, now im 23 and look 23) so i happily hand it over and talk to my brother about how hes doing.

the dealer handed me my card back i thanked her and said even when i turned 21 no one carded me. She and the other lady at the table laughed and they asked if i was older or younger than him (the dealer i believe to be nice but i enjoyed it) and i said
'oh hes 21 and im 23 so she should be carding us we are young'
the dealer laughed and said its weird how good my brother is doing considering how young he is (he was up about 100 dollars at the time) and thanked her and said i don't like to gamble with a lot of money myself so im happy with penny slots.

the dealer was always nice to us, joined in on the Slicey is bad luck jokes, and was one of the nicest people i meet in vegas.

I remember the first time I went to Las Vegas. I stayed in the Luxor, and the first day I was there, I spotted kids hocking loogies into the lobby from the walkways, and someone had taken a dump on a seat in front of a slot machine.

Crazy stuff happens in vegas. One of my best friends forgot his ID and he lived in CA so we ended up playing at game works the whole time and it was a lot of fun. I don't like to gamble or drink so it worked out pretty damn good

Another time some random drunk guy got in my face and just yelled at me for no reason. All my friends got up and crowded around me and he just left like nothing happened.

That kid was a brat and his mom too. Sorry he stepped on your foot. That other guy who shoved you--what an asshole!

I like the M & M place too. I bought M&M poker chips. My co workers thought they were funny as hell.

Those penny machines actually can pay out if you find the right one. When I went to Vegas we were standing in line at the Stratosphere to get wristbands so we could get Kasey Kahne's autograph (for those who do not know who he is, he is a NASCAR driver), anyways the line was really long (they were giviing out wristbands and then you could come back and get autograph later). I decided to sit at a penny machine and put in five dollars and bet max and I hit one hundred dollars, then I played out my five, kept the hundred on there and put ten dollars in and the machine hit for a thousand, I was stoked..for only 15.00 I recieved 1100.00...that sure helped with the trip costs!! I loved M&M World also but I was not pleased with paying 9.00 a pound for the candy...to expensive in my book (I did by some anyways, just not as much as I wanted).

You'd be surprised how many people hit on penny machines. The only way to really hit anything is by always max betting, which can get expensive. 1100 is awesome. That would totally hit the spot for me right now....

oh yeah if i was really interested in winning i would have happily stayed at the machine that paid me 15 on my 2 dollar best or just kept the money.

But i went with 9 bucks knowing that i would not have that 9 bucks when i got home so it wasn't like a loss and i just wanted to try different games.

                        Not always by max betting.

My first trip down to Atlantic City I won nearly $200 on a penny machine betting 30 lines at 1 penny per line. I had put a five in.

I forget how the machine worked...I remember it was a Jaws themed game, and it was the first spin. It didn't look like a winning spin, but next thing I know this little buoy on the top of the machine starts moving back and forth and a bell starts ringing. Then, this mini-game started up where I had 25 dice rolls to try and outrun the shark with the S.S. Orca on this game board thing that showed up. Whatever space the two landed on was what I won. That ended up being their "minor" jackpot, which was the $200.

Then both Mom-bot and I have regularly hit upwards of $300 on another machine that features stacked wilds, typically betting two pennies per line with all lines picked. Maybe that's just us, but I can safely say I have never hit that max bet button once. Probably because I'm too chicken

sound like oyu had a game with a bonus round or bet multipiler.
A lot of penny slots have these to draw people to them and its only like a 1:25-50 per machine can get them, and and on penny slots the max on the potential pay out with a max bet is just about 1000 dollars and just barely at that.

It does make the game fun when you are just spinning on a a dollar get the bonus and suddenly you have 10 extra spins that pay you an extra 10 dollars lol

QFT, unfortunately. I've been to Veags and other tourist-heavy places, and it seems every time I get cut in front of, or shoved or jostled aside, I will hear the person who did it speaking French shortly after. I'm sorry.

Someday I'm going to learn me some handy phrases translated into French, such as "Fuck you with a Roto-Rooter, you cheese-eating surrender monkey!" as a means of dealing with these people.

Of course there are French tourists who are perfectly polite and wait their turn. I guess I just never figure out who they are because they're not drawing attention to themselves by being rude.

Some of those slot players are obsessive about the machines they play on.

Also, when I'm gambling, which is not often, I always go for the penny slots. There isn't so much money to be won off them, but I get more play for my money, and I look at is as a way to pass time, like a video game, rather than a money-making opportunity.

Actually, I've had the most fun, and luck, with craps. There's a little more control and the odds are a little better. Slots bore the life out of me.
