  • Oh the entitlement(2 stories)

Today while riding the bus a woman made the bus driver lower the handicapped ramp so she could get her rolling bag on the bus, instead of picking it up to get it on. It wasn't a big bag, or even full. She then proceeds to pick the bag up onto the seat next to her.

Then at Mal-Mart(I needed a new coffee maker) a woman has her child use an electric cart as a ride, a form of entertainment, while she shops. There was much stop and go forward and reverse action here.

I'm pretty sure where I live you would be 1. Refused to be allowed on the bus, and 2. Kicked out of Walmart for abusing the motor-carts. My store is really strict on this, my husband is sent out to catch the idiots that abuse the carts during the night shift.

Sucky though, I mean, really with the handicapped thing? If I was the bus driver I would have just laughed at her.

Sadly, I've seen the same issues on the bus here. At one point, I had a bunch of grocery bags on my lap, and a couple under my seat. There was some spillover, though for the most part I was all in one seat. Enter a woman who shoved herself into the seat next to me, then screamed at me for not moving. I couldn't. She then told me

"I take precedence over YOUR bags, so I need these seats."

Her reasoning? She had bags too. Mind you, I had 4 reusable large shopping bags. She had a convenience store plastic bag. Which needed its own seat.

Yeah, wanna guess whether or not she got her way and got my seat...?

people on the bus never cease to amaze me sometimes. Just when I think I've seen the worst, someone always comes along to prove me wrong.

And kids on motor carts? another pet peeve. <Sigh> Fun times.

*blinks* How on earth would you need the handicapped ramp for your rolling bag? Seriously, pick the damn thing up, get on the bus, and it goes at your feet or in your lap. Grr people.

I have my own scooter, now--but it used to just KILL me to see perfectly healthy, able bodied people riding around on the scooters at store while I limped along, very slowly, with my cane. Why? BECAUSE i could walk--not well, mind, but I COULD! (and usually, they had the last scooter available on the occasion that I was really having a bad day and absolutely NEEDED to go to the store)

I usually wanted to yank them off by the hair--or offer to trade bodies--for only 24 hours. See how the deal with a truly handicapped physique for a while.

As to the idiot on the bus....~eye roll~ and shame on the bus driver for actually DOING it!
