Let me count the ways of bullying I've had to endure while I've been at the Litter Box at the hands of managers:

    1) Tarzan would do the following:

Verbal put downs . . . sometimes in front of vendor reps, other times in private with no witnesses

Not recognizing the fact that I in fact had the right to ask for a transfer since he didn't feel I was meeting expectations

Constant nitpicking and making impossible demands. If Cheetah (the AM at the time) was also working, it would be a double ambush in the backroom - with no witnesses and the belittling and needling would be almost unbearable. Several times I was pushed to the point of tears.

Threatening my job when I sent an email to HR with notes on several incidents that had happened in just the first couple of months he'd been at my store, including names and contact numbers (after obtaining permission from said reps) of vendor contacts who witnessed some of the incidents noted.

Two BS write ups that I suspect HR tossed out on the grounds that they occurred after my initial contact with them about both managers

Insulting me in the backroom, physically cornering me so I could not leave and making a physical threat. That was the last straw and HR got yet another email basically telling them about this incident and that unless something was done, as this incident fell under the category of physical and sexual harassment, I would be looking into other avenues of recourse.

End result of that battle: Both managers ended up transferred out to other stores. I stayed where I was until a few months later when I was sent to the store I am currently at.

    2) Snoopy . . . current store manager that has been a thorn in everyone's side since last November.

Constant sneaking up on me at various times during the workday . . . with no explanation or answer when asked if he needed anything or if I could help him with anything.

Complaining about private conversations that he's eavesdropped on amongst coworkers about work related stuff.

Telling me that I wasn't allowed to talk to the vendor reps after one of them made mention that he had me working in 3 different departments - which made him look like an idiot for not getting any help to cover DSD deliveries and instead putting that on me as well as my normal stuff (and for 2 weeks I was trying to cover Scanning b/c the regular person was out due to death in the family one week and vacation the next.)

Constantly ignoring his own rules about staying busy throughout the day and will stand around talking to customers for a good 15-20 minutes at a time, but if any of us are caught saying anything else to a customer than "Welcome to the Litter Box, can I help you with anything?" he gets bent out of shape and says we're wasting company time.

Left me and another female coworker alone in the store before business hours by ourselves for around 45 minutes a few Wednesdays ago while he went back home to change into his work clothes and come back, because he "woke up at 4 am with leg cramps so bad he couldn't get into his work pants" - yet he came in wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Employees are not to be left alone in a locked store alone without a manager present - we're not coded for MOD duties at all, nor are we allowed to have alarm codes in case they are set off for any reason. Not only was store safety put at risk, but also employee safety.

Anyone else have horror stories to share here?

      but also employee safety
This right there is what irks me about it, things in the Store can be replaced. Material things are not as important as people, period. "Snoopy" should be hit in the head with a mackerel..repeatedly.
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.
