    STORY #1
Alright, to start, I did not actually see the person do this - I only came across what they did (I wish I HAD seen them do it, I absolutely HATE people like them and will not hesitate to confront them when *caught*)

While shopping one day a few week ago, I was walking through the frozen food area and happened to look at a cube-shaped shelving unit to see the someone had - rather than learning 3 feet to the left where the freezers were - had thrown a tube of frozen cookie dough and a package of frozen cherry-cheesecake 3 feet to the right on the cube-shelf, behind a small box of "can toppers". The items had apparently been sitting there for some time, as the cookie dough was a uniform room temperature.

It might seem trivial to some, but it really irks me, especially since - as I said - the fool could have just as easily moved the same distance to the left and put them in the freezer, but instead seemed to deliberately put them somewhere that they would - when found - would cause them to be thrown out.

    STORY #2
Being a "touristy" area, the city has put a number of highly visible signs in the middle of various roads, reminding drivers about THE LAW concerning "yielding to pedestrians in crosswalks". However, even with all the money wasted on the signs, it is a rare day in he - excuse me - the city when a driver will actually STOP for pedestrians in the crosswalks. Normally, Drivers will play a demented form of "chicken", either forcing the pedestrians to double-time to avoid being hit, or the drivers will simple veer around the pedestrian and keep going.

And to add to the insult, a friend actually documented on video this deranged behavior by drivers in the city. He was stopped by the police for doing so, and threatened with a Disorderly Conduct citation!

And the police did not want to see or even care about the video.

I do not think this is a city so much as it is a giant insane asylum.

Wonder what the city would do if the video happened to end up on youtube.
With the story of the threat as well.

I would so fight such a bogus citation in Court.

Tell your friend to post on You Tube, please! And update us with the link!

that irks me as well when people lay out chilled/frozen items in an inappropriate place rather than put it back or hand it to the cashier for restock. these morons don't realise that this is factored into shrinkage (along with misplaced shopping carts) and often will impact store prices. these same morons will bitch, whine and moan about the rising costs of their groceries, however.
                look! it's ghengis khan!

I caught my boyfriend doing something similar...it wasn't a frozen item but we were in the aisle it belonged in but at the other end.......and he just stuck it wherever. I told him to go put it back where it goes and he actually said "they pay people to put that stuff back" I said no they do not pay people enough to cover for laziness like that ..and he had the nerve to be mad at me.... He stomped off to put it back but was pissed.

story 2 - saw that myself yesterday too.

me i stop for the stop signs and when i see people in the crosswalks cos... well it's polite and it's the law.

but yeah, i saw one other driving just barrel through the stop sign - it was both painted on the road and had a normal sign ... and there was a guy waiting to cross the crosswalk too.

                    yeesh.

That always makes me crazy. People can't tell the difference between a freezer and a refrigerator, so they dump frozen stuff into the refrig, where it melts; or dump the refrigerated stuff into the freezer, where it freezes solid and gets ruined. Not to mention the cold items that end up shoved behind regular items on the store shelves. Sheer laziness and stupidity.

Oh yes. I was in our rugs section one afternoon straightening them up, and caught sight of something between two piles of rugs..... It was an individual meat pie (wrapped I'm glad to say) which someone must have deliberately pushed down there, no way could it have fallen so far down on its own. I'm just glad I found it before it was able to get out of there by itself.....

Not to get into fratching, but I have found in my grocery experience that most people that do that sort of thing are not paying for their food, if you get my meaning.

I actually have the opposite problem with drivers, too often they yeild to me when I'm walking and I wish they wouldn't do that.

I move at one pace only - leisurely. I never rush or move quickly unless I absolutely have to, and even then I don't go very fast. I don't like cars stopping to let me cross in front of them because I feel like an asshole taking my time and strolling on past like I'm in the woods or something and totally oblivious. So if I see that a car is slowing down or has stopped to let me cross in front of it, I stop and then look away, or fiddle with my purse or something to indicate that I'm not ready to cross. And so many times the car will just fucking sit there and wait for me. I've come to a complete STOP, I'm not walking anymore, you can go.

Or else I wave for the car to go on ahead, and they, in turn, just wave at ME to go. Asshole, I waved you on because I want YOU TO GO FIRST. I'll wave back and forth with drivers four or fives times and sometimes I lose out and am forced to cross in front of them.

Most people don't know this, but "waving a car through" while waiting at a crosswalk can get the driver ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian. Stupid as hell, but still the way things are.

If you want the car to go instead of waiting for you to cross, turn around.

I have found that if I turn to face completely away from the crosswalk, then cars assume I don't want to cross (which I don't right then), and will go on by without any fuss.
