  • In Which Telephoneangel is Fired

    Next week.I have a disciplinary meeting about it.

    For calling my team leader a "pranny" (not very rude word more shows exasperation). Apparently he doesn't like being called a pranny and has asked for me to be fired.

    Can't say I can bring myself to care much.

    Customer "why did you answer the phone if you can't help me?"

      i asked him to do something which would have been extremely helpful given the time restraints on all of us which I could not do myself otherwise i would have done it and he just dithered and dithered until after a time where doing it would no longer have done any good anyway.

      At that point it then became not just a small easy thing to do but a major headache (but only for me).

      So i said to him "stop being such a pranny and help next time". but he hates me with a vengeance anyway.

        He hates you because you pointed out that he is not weighing all possibilities in order to make the best decision: he is hiding from doing work by pretending to think.
        To seek it with thimbles, to seek it with care;
        To pursue it with forks and hope;
        To threaten its life with a railway share;
        To charm it with forks and hope!

          You should bring this up.

            So, does this dork really have the power to get you fired or will you just be told to watch your language another time?
            Oh, and thank you for teaching me a new insult , I'm sure it will come in handy some time.

              You sure he didn't think you said that other word that begins with a p and ends with a y?

                Good luck. So not surprised your boss would do that.

                  This was a new word to me so I Googled it. Seems pretty inoffensive (although Urban Dictionary says it's also a term used in the porn industry, so I wonder if your boss is more familiar with it in this context?)

                    Write down everything you can remember about the events before and just after you called him a Pranny. This way, when you take it to the disciplinary, you have something to refer to and they can't convince you that you said something you didn't.
                    Also, it shows you are taking it seriously. You may not care too much, but, in my experience of disciplinaries, I can get flustered and confused and sometimes admit to being in the wrong, even though I wasn't.
                    Hope it goes ok though

                      I believe that she has had the disciplinary hearing and walked out on them. Check the blanket fort thread in offtopic.
                      Depending on the workplace, it may qualify as going ok .

                            The office must be close to 221b Baker Street. A bear is catholic, the pope shits in the wood and an employee who walk out on a disciplinary hearing may have a problem with something .

                              The only time some people* realise that employees have feelings and are intelligent beings, is when they physically remove themselves from a distressing work environment. It seems that you can repeatedly try and communicate verbally, or just leave.
                              The seem to go temporarily deaf when convenient for you.

                              Hope you're ok x

                              EDIT: By people* I mean bosses
