    And my hometown.

The local Target opened at some ungodly hour in the middle of the night, and of course all civility, common sense and common decency went down the tubes. The assembled morons rushed the doors and knocked several people down.

One guy managed to crawl free, shook his head and went running on into the store.

Another man stayed down, yelling for help.

And the crowd just stepped over and around him, 'cause God forbid anything get in the way of their quest to get that 52" HDTV or whatever piece of crap they went there for. Not one of them stopped to help. Not. One. Finally the security guys (and there weren't enough of them) got the guy out. He was taken to the hospital, as far as I know his injuries weren't life-threatening. I would post a link to the local TV news video but I found it too disturbing.

It really was disgusting. Just totally appalling. And I'm sure it happened at many other stores across the country.

Morons. All that acting like animals to save a little money.

That's disgusting. I've heard of people getting stampeded to death in previous Black Friday rushes. No amount of cheap crap is worth a human life.

I honestly blame Target for not having any kind of ticket system setup for these TV sales. That only encourages things like this to happen. Yes I fault the people as well for trampling the man over but geez how many more times does this have to happen before the whole stample trampede of Black Friday is ended.

And here I was thinking about how much the holidays are going to suck this year because I don't think sales today are going to be any good, and we're going to be sitting on stuff well into February.

This just makes me realize Black Friday could suck far more. We could end up all over the news because of somebody being seriously maimed or killed.

It didn't look like anybody was really interested in helping that poor guy. They just treated him like a speed bump on the way to electronics.

And I can also be thankful my store didn't have anything worth trampling people over. Then again, no store ever does.

I'm watching ABC World News right now (about 10 minutes to go as I type this) and they started the newscast with a Black Friday report, possibly about that Target Store. Shows one guy (shopper) got a bit trampled, gets up and leans against a counter or something, in apparent pain, composes himself, and then continues on

The newscaster's comments regarding BF in general, pretty much only revolved around customers getting hurt. I turned to the TV, and expressed my opinion outloud; Basically, Screw them. They brought it on themselves, by taking that risk. What about the employees that have been injured or killed in past years, in these tramplings brought on by herds of morons? They pretty much have no choice to be there, or lose their jobs!

Do I believe BF shoppers that get hurt deserve it? Of course not. I just don't have a hell of a lot of sympathy for them since they choose to participate in it, and the employees, as I note above, really don't have a choice to be there and risk anything from verbal abuse, to physical injury or death, simply doing their jobs.

I just watched it on CNN. Stampede caused by, what else, line cutters.

                Disgusting.

This is why I don't go to the stores on Black Friday.

We had one injury locall at WMart, or course. All items for the midnight sale were in the aisles, on flats, covered - not even employees knew what was in what box, evidently, so no one knew which were dvds, which games, or even bedding - many weren't even near the normal departments. So of course that only added to the confusion as people hovered, waiting for midnight and the unveiling (no lines outside, everyone was already in the store). Besides people reaching and grabbing to get movies, etc, you had people trying to go from one to another display to find what they were looking for (and no employees able to tell them which way to go, as they didn't know themselves). One poor woman was shoved, pushed or something (haven't heard, don't think it was deliberate, but don't really know), fell, couldn't get up (possible broken hip) and had to have an ambulance called.

Other than that, people (both employees and customers) were surprisingly cheery and polite. One cashier was so cheery at 5am that I was tempted to ask her what chemical help she had, LOL.

                  Madness takes it's toll....

I just...I can't even...Wow. These people should be ashamed! Ugh...If this isn't a blatant statement of how greedy and self-absorbed a vast majority of people have become, I don't know what is! Also, yet another reason NOT to shop at Target!

There was an almost stampede at a Toys R Expensive in my neck of the woods. They ended up having to let people in 50 at a time.

And in Madison, also at a Toys R Expensive, somebody tried to cut to the front of the line and threatened to get a gun and shoot people who confronted her over it.

Geez, what is it about toys that has people in such a lather this year?
