  • F*ck you Mother Nature!

So tomorrow's supposed to be the second busiest shopping day of the year, with doorbusters and over $100,000 in sales forecast...

...and we're getting 8 to 12 inches of snow tomorrow. Awesome. Guess who's store is going to get its payroll slashed for the frantic final two weeks of Christmas due to all the lost sales?

And this has to happen on my weekend to work, natch. I have to be in early both days.

As far as I'm concerned Mother Nature can eat a bag of dicks.

If I didn't fear driving in snow (plus the fact that I'm unemployed...), I'd be more than happy to take a road trip and buy stuff from your place of employment.

See, that's one of the reasons why I moved from MD to SC: no more snow. Well, there was this one time earlier in the year where there was snow but that only lasted for a day at the most.
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

Everything you said, Irv, will probably happen at my store, too.

I'm going to love my drive into work tomorrow at 6:30 AM with the snow that we're predicted to get.

          I feel your pain Irv.

For ONCE I am NOT scheduled for the day that a MOJOR storm hits.

One of the other closing drivers was yucking it up on Wed saying for the last couple of years all of the major storms have hit on his day off. I reminded him of what is coming on Sat. the laugher suddenly stopped as HE closes on Sat.

what I am betting is that I get a call begging me to work.

You know it's bad when the Minnesota Vikings have to postpone a game. I guess the Giants are stuck in Kansas City.

It's good for me though, I have Monday off, and can watch the game at the VFW now.

Is this the annual Jester Pissing Northerners Off Regarding Weather Post? Why, I do believe it is......

We are feeling the effects of the cold front down here in Key West as well. The last few days I actually had to wear a hoodie over my t-shirt. Luckily, though, I was still fine in shorts, although many locals and tourists opted for longer pants. It's supposed to warm up, but then drop down in temp again later in the week, down all the way to the fifties.

So yeah, I can feel your pain, folks.

Yeah, go ahead, hate me. Part of the fun of living down here is mocking those who don't. Especially when it comes to cold weather and snow. Everyone who lives here does it.

                Motherfucker!

I don't really care about the game itself, but I am the guy at my bar that each week assigns the various tv's with Sunday's games, and I had that game as the Major Early Game, on the main tv in the bar, and with sound. Sure, I could just let my coworkers figure it out tomorrow (it's not that big a deal), but knowing me, I'll go in there in the morning before they open and do some rearranging.

Then again, since there are were only 7 early games scheduled, maybe I will just let my coworkers take care of it. Not like I had to eliminate any games due to running out of tv's, as I often do. (Next week is going to be a bitch with all the early games.)

Here's the update: I'm at work waiting for my coworkers (we all want to make sure cars start & can drive on this, etc.) The wind has been absolutely howling for several hours, pulling the front doors open at a couple of points. Snow is blowing sideways. The lights flickered for an hour and a nearby town has no power. At one point I just walked by the front doors and a snowflake hit me in the eye. I dread driving home in this blizzard. Luckily, it's about a mile.

I hate it too, Irv. Saturday, I was supposed to go to Mad Town for the last Belegarth event (well, around here) until Spring. However, the weather looked so bad, that I told my ride to not even bother picking me up because I freak out, even if I'm not driving. Got into a car accident a few years back (I wasn't driving) that messed me up on driving in the snow.

It's currently 10 pm here, and we have our air conditioner running. To keep the temp in here below 80. >_<

Tho, to be honest, it's 'cause our downstairs neighbors are way too in love with their heat, but still...

I posted a gloaty weather message on facebook, and it's gotten some seriously fast response, more so than most of my status updates.

                        I bask.

Best cure for snow? A great railway network. Seriously, trains can usually get through weather that nothing else can.

Well, Jester it gets worse. The Metrodome collapsed last night. So who knows when it'll be played, or where.

If they want to be really adventurous they could play the game outside at the Minnesota Gophers new outdoor stadium, or the outdoor Twins stadium.
