Yeah, this is obviously not my week.

SC gets onto the bus dragging her child by the arm faster than they can toddle (kid looks about 3ish) and immediately tries to argue that her fare card should still be valid and how the bus driver is just trying to pull one over on her because she's (race)! Insert blahblahracisimblahblah here. Bear in mind the whole time the SC is glaring at the fare card machine and kicking it petulantly and is yelling at the driver without even making eye contact.

Bus driver looks at her and says "I'm (race) too, now shut up and either pay or get off my bus."

SC pays and walks back towards the back of the bus. She walks around other people, then proceeds to shove me out of the way. She then turns to her child and says "See? You've got to show these (racial slur)s who's the boss! You ain't never gonna get a seat from them if you don't push them around! You better be pushing them out of your seat on the school bus if they ever taking it."

Was tempted to go complain to the bus driver, who seemed the type to kick her off for continuing to pull that sort of stuff (bus driver couldn't have heard with all the traffic noise from that far back in the bus) but then we got flooded with people and I couldn't move. I was, however, very satisfied when she tripped getting off the bus.

Wow..I'm sure she'll be pitching a screaming fit the first time her child gets kicked off the school bus for shoving people around.

I've dealt with people like that, especially when I was younger and had to take the bus to work. What most people weren't expecting was for me to stand my ground. I'm a plus sized gal, and if you shove me when I have decent footing, you're more likely to find yourself not moving. I've been told I do a pretty good sandbag imitation too.

We totally need a portable shredder for race cards. Employees should be issued them and be allowed to tell people that their race cards are invalid and must be handed over.

I would have had NO trouble contradicting her to her child right then and there. "No, honey, it's better to be kind to people. Try to remember that and you'll be fine. When you shove people you can get into trouble. You wouldn't want anyone to shove you, would you? If it's ok for you to shove other people, then it would be okay for them to shove you, and nobody wants that, do they?"

Gonna echo this sentiment. Always good to warn little kids not to shove or hit other people, since there are people out there who will shove or hit you back.

I warned a petulant child once not to kick me in the leg: "You kick me and I will hit you back." He looked startled, stopped to think about it, and kicked me anyway. So I gave him a little thump on the top of the head, just enough for him to feel it. He clapped his hands on his head, jaw dropped, and turned to his dad, who just shrugged and told him: "He warned you."
