50 million taxpayers must delay filing - IRS

The headline says it all. If your return includes:
Form 8917,Tuition and Fees Deduction
and/or
Educator Expenses
and/or
Itemized Deductions
You get to wait longer than usual to even get the returns acknowledged.

My customers will not be happy about this--I know because I'm not.

Well yeah it's your fault for not making it possible that your customers can file whenever they want to.

At least I use Turbo Tax so I can only yell at my computer, not an actual person.

We have a good accountant (for a couple of years we used Turbo Tax and him, his refunds were always more than Turbo Tax, even after his fee).

We also usually file pretty early, we've been known to file in late February, we do it electronically, and have direct deposit. I guess it is time to call him and schedule an appointment?

Its sad that people blame the front line people for laws. Sure, they should be upset but get upset at the right people for the right reasons.
