  • I hate shoplifters

Even when I don't work at the store.

The Mrs & I stopped at the Orange Apron today to get a new dog door & as we walked into an aisle we saw a guy rip the cardboard wrapper off a large extension cord & throw it on the floor.I looked at him & he gave me the look that says "Oops, busted" but we just walked past while I memorized his clothing.Got around the corner & I grabbed an employee & told him they had a shoplifter & gave him the description of the guy.

When we walked out there was a cop car out front, don't know if it was related but I'd like to think so.

We don't have Orange Aprons here. We have good old Menards

The lumber is so bad there that people don't even want to steal it.

We have an Orange Apron, right across the street from their blue competition and literally a mile and a half down the road is Menards... it feels like overkill, but it is nice when you're comparison shopping.

Me too hates shoplifters. Basically because I'm the one (among other paying customers) who have to pay for these scumbags' theft.

Maybe you are the one who has to pay for it, but I'm the one who finds the wrappers in the bathroom and has to turn it in.

God, I wish the things my store sells wasn't insured. Then they'd have to take shoplifters seriously and really do something about it. Instead, they pretend our rather powerless LP team can handle most things, and while they do call the cops about once per day, it only catches the obvious, stupid crooks, mostly teenagers. The real thieves get away free as birds.

Customers should always be served . . . to the nearest great white.

... and then they sack staff to pay for the ever-rising insurance premiums.

Funny story. My craft store is across the parking lot from an Orange Apron store. One morning when I arrived at store at 5am I was walking through parking lot and could hear the intercom from other store. Apparently some one was ignoring being paged over the intercom and the person paging wasnt amused at being ignored.
