  • Valentines Day!

It's the season for overpriced chocolates, made in China teddy bears, and the ever nasty Sweet Tarts....

Which is why I made my own damn chocolates. Messy, but oh so good. Truffles, with delicious and easy flavors such as: Cayenne and Cinnamon, Original Yumminess, and Sea Salt. Sea Salt's my favorite. Going to test the waters with my coworkers and leave 'em in the break room. They won't last long, I bet! Who knew something so ugly could be so delicious?

What are y'all planning for/made for Valentines?

I'm going on a chocolate-buying trip on February 15th. Heheheh.

My boyfriend's coming over to cook me dinner, and I'm making chocolate and peppermint bark.

Peppermint bark is nummy! Omnomnom~ I have the white chocolate chips, and now I want to make it. Curse you!

I'm going to be in meetings all day. And then spend the evening wishing Kabe weren't at work so we could at least talk.

My husband and I went on a Chocolate Walk in a nearby city today. 26 local businesses were handing out unique chocolates. We walked around the city for about 4 hours, got a load of chocolate (like a friend of mine said, "It's like trick-or-treat! For adults! With chocolate!") and found a bunch of really cool and unique items that we bought, both for ourselves and for friends.

For the last few years, on Valentine's Day itself, we've always gone to a local Thai restaurant; they have great food, and on Valentine's Day they've had some neat specials for couples. Unfortunately, they're not doing a special this year, but we're still going to go for dinner anyway.

We don't do Valentine's Day, not really. I make a decadent dessert (we don't usually eat dessert) then we watch the grossest movie we can find. Last year was "The Midnight Meat Train". This year might be "Audition".

                  I have no plans.

Amusing: Just below your thread (at the moment, at least) is Dave1982's post about his own chocolate-making adventures from today.

Rugz has the day off because we were going to get the kids babysat and go for a picnic in the botanical garden, but Nan's not well enough to be left at home by herself yet. So we're just going to chill out at home with her and the girls.

Yeah, I made this thread, and worried if there was another one just like it. Lo and behold, there wasn't, but it's darn close to this topic! Maybe we synchronized our brainwaves or something...

Oh my god, who did that song?? I need that to be my anti-weasel anthem. Seriously, the neighbors...

Hm, what to do for Valentine's Day in Afghanistan...

Sleep in the morning, get up, shower, work, lunch, work, dinner, salsa lessons (every Monday and every other Tuesday).

Damnit there's nothing to do out here.

Fievel and I planned to sleep in til around noon in our respective homes and then we're probably gonna go get lunch or something, and then off to the carnival that's in town. Who knows what else, but yeah those are our plans I made him a big batch of homemade chicken soup and took it to him in the barracks last night cause he wasn't feeling good, and the reaction was better than I could have expected (I surprised him with it).
